Thank God Almighty that some of his kinsmen said they are Igbos, while his is bini.It is very possible because in delta state,we have bini, olukumi and igala people who are indigene of the state most especially in delta north where 95 percent are igbo.We have Igbos in kogi, benue, edo, cross river and akwa ibom state but in few numbers.Igbo unite is not about separation but about one family coming together.Biafra is not an igbo affair as some people think,Biafra is majorly ijaw, igbo, efik etc. |

Wait a minute is not by force to force love…. Wike said is not an Igbo man does not mean you should hate him or disrespect him this way…. See life is a funny world… you don’t force someone to love you. Your deed will let people love you. The question is why always many of Igbo immigrants are running away from Igbo race don’t know you know there is someone hiding under that act…. Igbo should not claim people… people are the ones to claim them. So wake up donmixc: |

Bede2u:Leave people to make their choices regarding their identity now. Na you go force them to attach by force? This attitude of yours will make your Biafra dream a pipe dream for centuries to come because even if the whole ethnic groups in Nigeria agrees to break up, as more and more people are now tired of you guys, the fear amongst the other big tribes is that you guys will try to grab other people's land and resources which will lead to unending wars. Haba, bini and itsekiris shared same ancestry, similar names, culture and tradition with the yorubas but you will never find any Yoruba person who is interested in forcing them. The moment you start to adjust the map you will open a floodgate of unending conflicts as we see in Gaza. Just because your people are in the US will you go and claim their land? For me, I truly support the exclusion of Igbo land and people from Nigeria and will mobilize everyone to vote for Biafra if there is referendum tomorrow because we are all tired of you people but my biggest concern is that there will SURELY be a war without end between the igbo and their minority neighbors. Jonathan said something similar at a university in the US last week. |

Bede2u:Never knew Christiano Ronaldo was Yoruba! Bede2u:Are you sure you saw what you posted? In any case, this would be a very good analogy to the discussion at hand. No! The Yorubas do not claim that every black person in Brazil or Portugal is Yoruba! Blacks from other parts of Africa also migrated to these areas at various times. Yoruba culture, language, names and traditional worship system have been adopted by the people of these regions, including the indigenous whites who invariably would have intermarried with Yorubas, these do not make these areas Yoruba territories and no Yoruba is desirous of claiming such as their territories. This is a sign of a high level of maturity, sincerity and respect for others to choose their identity and who to identify with. Rather, it's these people of various origins who yearn to identify with the Yoruba cultural system, and even claim to be Yoruba. This is how it should be. In Nigeria, there are many ethnic groups who claim they are descendants of the Binis(Edos), have you seen any Edo claim these people or their territories? It's very obvious there are ulterior motives regarding this desperate tagging of Ikwerres as Igbos. |

I have read this thread twice now. Our enemies in the Sad East will be put to shame. I expected this since from all prominent Ikwerre men. Rotimi and the likes of Chidi Lloyd need to speak up too. When they come to Ogba we will speak up too. Ameka o! |

amaridigital:Jonathan said nothing. Also everything you wrote their is trash because at least 40% of people from Ikwere accept being igbo. If you want us to leave out people like Wike, that's fine. We haven't forced wike to be igbo. But don't try to force Mbata and other proud Ikwere igbos to not be Igbo. |

The only Ikwerres I've seen claim to have some Igbo heritage at various times were two politicians who were seeking either votes or favour from Igbos regarding their ambition: Rotimi Amaechi when he was soliciting votes from Igbos during campaign period. He was reported to have denied being Igbo at some other time. The second is this Mbata who contested for the ohanaeze president general. Every other Ikwerre I've seen, also their sociocultural group has made it very clear they are not igbo, but Iwurhonna (Ikwerre). |

Wike is the last Ijaw man that will ride on Igbo Ikwerre people to fame. Okoro gbara afor enwere ife ogbatulu At your old age, you dont know your ancestors or deny them, passing confusion on to your lineage. Let us hope your kids will have more sense than you because by the looks of things they will need it. |

Snowx:The same Wike that supported State security whilst he was Governor now claiming if he was wrong, he was wrong and that he does not support State security? lol The joke is on you Igbo haters who want people to deny their heritage to suit your bigotry. News flash, whether he deny or accept, he is an Igbo man, it is in his blood and genetics and why he has that head and looks the way he does. Igbo is written all over him in blood and nobody, no devil can take that away. |

NaMe4:Which school did you attend? How many Ikwerres do you know and have you been to Ikwerre before? You just analyse issues from your head without any empirical evidence. To you, Ikwerre is Wike, Amaechi and Mbata because you read about them on social media. For your information, the issue about Ikwerre being Igbos or not is just like indigenous people of Kwara State and Okun people of Kogi State claiming that they are not Yoruba because the narrative suits them. Again, Igbos are too big for Ikwerre . Ikwerre is not even up to Owerri Igbo community in Imo State. |

pinkyruledworld:it's a question of displaced people assimilating into the bigger tribe. For example some Brazilians moved to Lagos state years ago and their future generation all speak Yoruba today and have Yoruba names. But will they be wrong to say I am not Yoruba I am Brazilian? Just cuz someone from ikwerre speaks igbo and has igbo name doesn't mean they are igbo |
| Re: I’m Not Igbo – Wike by diamond68: 8:45am On Jan 20, 2025 |
Bliss4Lyfe:it's not even that serious but look at wicked ? He doesn't look or talk like an igbo man at all. Look at ameachi rotimi ? He looks and talks like an igbo man. Wike mannerisms are not that of an igbo man. Ameachis mannerisms are that of an igbo man. You have to dissect and study people spiritually and socially. This makes me to conclude ikwerre is just a name housing many tribes. Inside ikwerre is bini and igbo people. Wike looks and acts like a bini man and drinks like a bini man. |

Even after leaving Nigeria, Igbo will face difficulties. Sure, Nigeria is about to break with these recent incidents. And I feel Tinubu will initiate before the end of his second term. Igbo will struggle to coordinate themselves at first, but I believe they will overcome this. While Yoruba will pick up quickly, the rest of the north will be extremely confused. SS will face challenges as a result of Igbo, but places like Ikwere, which have rejected Igbo, will remain steadfast because they understand they will be second-class citizens in Igboland. While Igbo will seek their wealth, they will resist Igbo. This is where work needs to be done because Igbo will want to use force to make them stay, but Igbo go collect wotowoto. Benin will undoubtedly prefer Yoruba. In addition, Kogi, Kwara, and Niger residents will choose Yoruba. The Kainji dam will cause a major problem for Yoruba and the north, but I believe there will be a solution after so many disputes. Separating Nigeria will not be easy, but it is inevitable. Then we will all experience what is known as prosperity and wealth. Africa will pick up gradually because Yoruba nation to Abidjan will first benefit from this. The Yoruba nation, Benin Republic, Togo, Ghana, and Abidjan will all experience massive growth. I believe Libera will also benefit greatly. On the other end, a debate will take place in Bakassi. Also, part of Adamawa where Atiku comes from will have challenges too. I believe everyone will want to reconnect with old allies. That of Lagos and Cotonou will not be an issue because "egun" people can easily move to Badagry, and the border may also shift forward. Why? Nigeria will not claim the people, but rather the new Yoruba nation. Same will apply to Adamawa - Cameroon, Bakassi - Cameroon. It think Niger and Chad won't have issues with the new nations close to them. We should all start preparing for this. Please go and buy land where you live before it is too late. When the time comes, that land will provide you with a residential permit. It is better to build a house there quickly. Good luck to everyone. |
