Our concern is that EFCC doesn't have the right to enter someone's house in the night like thieves. If they do, anything that happens to them, they shd take it....

the truth is that they actually have the right to enter your house once they can secure a court warrant ,they can come anytime if there is a reason for them to believe you are arm and dangerous,but the efcc is a financial organization,there should be a better way of making arrest than trying to break into someone house like a thief in the night.

As for the so called act of 'self-defence', the court will consider if the reaction was equal to or proportional to the act that precipitated it. Did they break down his door? Did they force themselves in? Or did he just fire at them after he had seen them on his CCTV?

Like I said earlier there may be instances where night raid becomes a necessity, there are protocols to be followed. key among is obtaining a warrant from a court of law to give legal backing to your raid.

Calm down. His lawyer will have to proof whether his life was in danger first .
There are rules of engagement in using
firearms.
Was he fired at first or he heard gun shots and fired back . Those are the issues he has to prove . He has to establish that his life was endangered.

So he will have to prove his innocence beyond reasonable doubt .
