What do you mean by corporate nigeria?
Corporate Nigeria is a phrase used to describe companies - local and foreign, multinationals and other organisations within the formal sector of the economy that employs people for salaries and wages.

You seem not to get it, I'm talking of 30m per month not annually, my friend's and i and in that circle of 7 digits monthly but 30m is way off, not many organizations can pull that stunt in Nigeria thats what I'm saying. You thought i said 30 m annually grin, read my comments again.
The thread mentioned 1 mil monthly....that was my predicate.

Is it ghosts on Nairaland?😃
Is it not the relatives, friends, husbands and wives of people working in these organisations?

The reason Nigerians hide their pay is black tax and insecurity. I wanted to go ask my friend the name of her firm and the pay range, but I remembered she tried to help submit my CV years ago and do you know she refused to tell me the salary expectation? She didn't want me to do the Maths and get her range. All she kept saying is they pay more than banks.
Too bad then. I guess it boils down to personal traits. Also bad that companies don't state their ranges online (always "it is competitive " ) and there is a dearth of information regarding the same topic. How person wan take negotiate when one does not know the bearings?

chai!

Also, in this iteration of Nairaland, professionals are a minority. You will find yourself arguing over things that are self evident.

You will either be accused of being a liar, or some bad belle pipu will start stalking you and praying for your downfall
Normal...
I totally forgot the Nairaland factor.😃

I have an ex colleague who started a new position with 2m /month last year. And dude has been promoted

Full time employees in mid size oil companies with small seniority are easily pulling down 1m. Most structured companies have likely increased salary in the wake of inflation

Nice.

Even some renowned NGOs pay their staff mouth watering salaries.

And like you said, most of these structured companies do salary review yearly due to inflation.

As of today, 1m is around $600, and a lot of companies pay far more than that, especially in Lagos. At the end of the day, nothing pays than being your own Boss.

Indeed it is an anonymous forum. But I choose to be more general than specific in my posts. A little research online will provide you with incontrovertible results regarding the pay structure in many sectors of the economy.

Because you don't know, doesn't mean is not real. NGO workers earn good salaries in this country. My brother just no dey argue again
Nazgul:
Yet another braggat.

The question I asked is so simple that even a primary school student can easily answer it.

No one cares if you earn 100m a month. Just list Nigerian owned companies that pay their staffs 1m above. Simple as ABC. Una go de brag up and down.

Have you ever worked in the cooperate world before? To even see 500k there and collect sef na war. And you're here saying you know over 50 people earning over 1m.

Even for foreign companies, if you remove oil companies how many foreign companies can you point that pays up to 1m? Microsoft that even hit the 1m mark has left the country. How many are left. Huge companies like Twitter and Facebook don't have physical offices in Nigeria. So what are you saying?

If you can't name the companies, don't quote me.

My dear say what you know.

People earn as high as 8.5m monthly here in Naija.

My out station allowance for a day is far beyond the range of salary you mentioned.

If your not making above 1m, know that some people are making far more than that.
Nazgul:
Name the company that pays such. Nigerian owned company. Most of you guys on this site make claims you can't defend.

If you must know, most entry level jobs in Nigeria today range from between 150k-200k

To even earn 500k sef you'll have spent a considerable number of years and gained relevant experience.

Una go just de argue for nothing.

How many Nigerian owned companies have declared sustained profit in the last 3 years that they want to pay their staffs 1m and above?

If you are talking about entry levels, i will agree with you that not many companies can afford to pay entry level officers that much.
But for middle level and senior staff, N1M is becoming very very small now. N1M is not more than $700 now. Thats is pathetic.

Middle level workers and above in banks, oil companies, FMCGs , Big 4 audit firms and many other companies all earn far above that.
For middle level workers, how many years of experience are we looking at?

So lawyers are this rich? I thought they were poor and struggling to survive!

I even read here, when a thread concerning courses that are good to read in tertiary institutions, and some nairalanders were saying that law is one of the most useless course in Nigeria!
Obviously not all lawyers will be poor.
Some will be lucky to work with a high paying firm. Some will be lucky to get high paying clients.

Demand outweighs supply, but the ones making it are making it.

More rantings without any poof to back up your claims.

I doubt if you've ever worked in the cooperate environment. If you have, you won't be making this blind argument. Do you know how much desiel is? Then electricity, tax, miscellaneous...etc.

Do you know the operational cost of running a company in Nigeria today? Most of these people spend billions monthly to keep the business afloat. What is the current spending power of Nigerians that the company would record ground breaking profit to be able to pay an average staff 1m?

Look at kuda, OPAY and palmpay. These companies have millions of customers and record daily transactions reaching billions of naira. Yet I can tell you that the average salary of their staff isn't up to 300k per month. And you're here talking about 1m.

Like I said you know nothing about the cooperate environment. And this would be my last reply to you.
Private school teacher for Ikorodu dey collect 1.5M per month bro?🙂
