Considering what Nigerian wives are, a man can manage to survive them if he has good inlaws. But having a bad in law and having a Nigerian wife at the same time can give a man heard attack. The man took a wise decision.

Well the main thing necessary for marriage is job/money/work.

I don't think that this "scam" is only reason he abandoned his bride. There must be other serious issues or signs of scams/deceits, insincerity and frauds going on of which he noticed and decided to cover shit with sand and eat. However this public shame and scam are loads that break a Carmel's back
