You did not read him correctly. He aid Nigeria should have been listed as a full member of BRICS and not as a PARTNER nation. BRICS is still five countries. Nigeria is not admitted as a member but as a partner.

Nigeria is not a BRICS member yet, but was just recently taken in as a partner nation. They mean two different things. That is what Prof Akinyemi said, that it is an insult for Nigeria to be treated as a partner and not as a member.
