President Bola Tinubu has met with Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, and the leaders of Ogoni land from four local government areas of River State, News360 Nigeria reports.

The meeting took place at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

On the delegations of the governor and the FCT Minister, respectively, were Senators Lee Maeba, Magnus Abe, Olaka Nwogu, Chief Victor Giadom, Chief Kenneth Kobani, Monsignor Pius Kii, Leedom Mitee, Senators Bennett Birabi, Barry Mpigi, Chief Keneth Kobani, Prof.B. Fakae, amongst others.

Also in attendance are some of President Tinubu cabinet members; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Idris Mohammed, Minister of Regional Development, Abubakar Momoh, Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas, Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited NNPCL, Mele Kyari.

The specific agenda of the meeting is yet to be made public but sources in the presidency claim it may not be unconnected to issues of Ogoni clean-up and resumption of oil exploration in Ogoniland.

Has nothing to do with Rivers crisis. Crude oil exploration and clean up is about to commence in ogoni area of Rivers State.

There is one thing I like about Sim Fubara, his fight with Wike does not extend towards Tinubu. Jagaban himself is very neutral in this so it is good.

We have over 100 oil wells hooked to 5 flow stations wasting away untapped since around 1995. If Tinubu can pull this off, it will be a big victory for the country. We are looking at an immediate addition of around 150k-200k bpd to our production. Big win for Rivers State, Big win for Nigeria.

.. BTW, this is just a stupid sensational and misleading headline. The report says the meeting is about Ogoni cleanup, but the headline says Rivers Crisis.

Fubara cannot fight Tinubu, he needs tinubu to win in 2027, fubara has little or no elites from ogoni area supporting him, all the ogoni big men are on wikes side. Forget about the noise, if elections are held Tomorrow and BAT hives wike all the support, fubara will lose before noon. Wikes senatorial district makes up for 75% of total voters in Rivers state, after the ikwere areas, ogoni is next in terms of voting strength.
