What If Kemi Badenoch Were Igbo? by FreedomfromtheT(op): 8:25pm On Jan 21, 2025
Nigerian born British politician who aims at being the next British Prime minister has been in the news of late.
She has been vocal and unapologetic about her disdain for the politics and governance of Nigeria her country of birth.
Expectedly, a lot of Nigerians, the political class, members of the ruling party and their supporters have been antagonizing her.
Kemi Badenock happens to be Yoruba by ethnicity and she affirmed so prefering to be called a Yoruba than a Nigerian.
One thing worthy of note is that those criticizing her stand are doing so based on her individual personal opinion. Hardly have I read people castigating her ethnicity or linking her anger toward Nigeria to the fact that she is from a particular ethnic group who are not happy that the president of Nigeria is a Yoruba.
Kemi is not being tagged an Ipob or Obidient who is angry because her brother 'lost' an election to the incumbent for constantly disparaging Nigeria. Her fellow Yorubas are not meant to suffer for her personal negative opinions about Nigeria.
There is no Yorubaphobia.
The Yoruba born British politician is not being told that because of her, no member of her ethnic group especially the person most of her tribesmen currently support would be allowed to become Nigeria's president.
Let's tell ourselves the truth.
If Mrs Kemi Badenock were an Igbo, how do you think the APC's propaganda machinery especially the Batists in particular would respond to her?

They would have called her IPOB

Even with her being Yoruba, they have tried to change the narrative to suit their sentiment. Most of Tinubus online urchins are now even suggesting that the woman is being propped by Igbo supporters in her vituperation. There is always a way even in there dreams to call out Igbos for their unending problems. These online thugs that are paid 30k per month and stay online lazing around and turning out there frustration on the ever hard working and industrious Ndigbo.
Tomorrow the 30k will be put into contribution for owanbe and once the party is over, they start blaming others for their hungry frustrated condition.

Kemi was being attacked, you all claimed those àttàcking her are Batists and Yoruba, I remember how Yoruba was Iashed at for trying to defend Tinubu at the initial stage of her stuuupidity, somehow, lgb0s who will always start an agenda in everything have started their agenda.
Nobody is stopping your tribe from being the president, power is given no one will hand it over to you, you lots should quit crying like babies.

Ipobidiens still crying over election lost 😁😁😁

When Yorubas came out to castigate her, the ipobidiens were crying that she was saying the truth about Nigeria and therefore we are trying to protect Tinubu.

Unfortunately igbos are here with there victims card.

I could remember when one Igbo girl wrote letter to US govt about Nigeria election or the one that openly declared that all Yoruba tribes should be poisoned in Canada yet hell was not leg lose.

But why this crying 😂

Did she kill an Igbo man in UK or she insulted igno tribes ? But only igbos crying 😂😂

It would mean nothing except if you are averse small minded tribalist. The truth is that none of us closed to be born in a particular tribal. Only small minded losers constantly engage in tribal fights.

You never made any active to be born in that particular tribe, if I had a say, I would prefer to be born in a village in Switzerland but I was not consulted before sending me to my tribe.

It does not matter if Kemi were from a particular tribe or the other, what truly matters is that she succeeded against all odds. She persevered, worked her butt off and is the leader of the Conservative Party in a country that once colonized and subjugated Nigeria. Let that sink in.

What truly matters is that she is our sister, mother, a black and importantly a NIGERIAN.

That is not the point sir.
We are happy for her even though some might not for reasons best known to them.
I only pointed out the mischief in using the personal opinion made by an Igbo against Igbos but regarding the one made by a Yoruba woman against Nigeria as her personal opinion.
