Go back and laugh in the installer's face. Get a good quality brand and use your hybrid to the fullest. hayzhed: |

Not just those 2 model at all.. Will advice ppl to stay away from sako for now.. I have been having issues with their inverter and battery.. . One of the cell in their battery is very low.. Been asking for solution how to balance it but nothing is forth coming.. The inverter itself have been giving issues since the day of Instllation.. That was early Nov 2024 less than 3 mths ago.. Now battery is no longer balance. I was told i need a load to lower the high voltage, which i know nothing abt.. I dont build battery. For the last 3days now they stopped responding to messages. I asked for their service center in Lagos so that i can send it for repair still no reply at all.. Items of less than 3mths and the customer is messaging me every single day.. Always on my neck.. 6.2kva paired with 10kwh battery. Anyone with solution should kindly help me out abeg.. 🙏 🙏 🙏 jonescosmos:

Haykay2001:What is V1 to V4 readings? Batteries are out of balance. I wish their BMS has an active balance function. Also most of these batteries are welded, not bolted or screwed on, so servicing them is super hard without special tools. Best bet is to return it to them. Let them handle it. It's still under warranty. |

[ quote author=fuckboys post=133583216]Please I need to add this to my inverter setup, can it be done or is there an engineer here who can set it up for me, I want to be able to see my total load in real time.[/quote]please which site is this? |

Haykay2001:This is roughly 2.8v each so not entirely out balance. They are not batch/match cells. Something is wrong somewhere. Active balance is far far far important than hard wired bms. Bms without active balance is as good as no bms. |

Haykay2001:Who have you bin communicating with? Did u use a low voltage disconnect on the inverter? Whats ur charging current too? Battery has a 5yrs warranty so best is to return it and try to find cause and prevent a repeat |

Hv been messaging this same guy.. I got the battery from him.. He connected me to some engineer and that was all.. Still no solution mctfopt: |

Haykay2001:Wait, you have 2.8V to 2.6 average are normal... You cannot no have good top balance and good bottom balanced pack. That 0.300 difference is a result of minor capacity difference which can be as low as 0.5AH less than 1AH Not representing Sako, but my own opinion and based on how cells behaves at this Low end of the curve. Your cut off should be set to 3.0-2.9 most installer dont know lithium batteries yet. Going below 2.9V is not proper way to set cut off. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Dam5reey1(m): 12:07pm On Jan 24, 2025 |
dollarnaira:Active balancing at 2.8V is not ideal.. balancing is recommended at 3.4 or higher. If you activate balancer at 2.8V it will affect top balance and will have to balance again at the top. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Dam5reey1(m): 12:10pm On Jan 24, 2025 |
Below 2.9V all cells are low, 2.9 to 2.6 have similar capacity

compunigeria:My brother, have been battling same issue in one of installations, I was dumbfounded listening to those problems u shared from my client cos i never had or seen such scenario before until I visited the site n saw things myself, what I discovered was that the sako inverter interference n d other problems u shared above are due to the fact that u connected the inverter to d earth... I contacted their support n the person said I should connect only the panels to the earth n when I further asked him that how do I protect the inverter from lightening through d grid, he responded that such is a natural disaster n can't be prevented |

@ Haykay2001 For reference, this was how a pack of cells I got from your favorite seller here looks like at the buttom.

| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by dollarnaira(m): 12:50pm On Jan 24, 2025 |
Dam5reey1:Only saying that d difference is not that bad. Installing active balancer would have prevented such from onset. Active Balancers are too precious to be avoided in all LifePO4. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Dam5reey1(m): 12:54pm On Jan 24, 2025 |
dollarnaira:You need to understand the concept of cell balancing.. You can not have Good top balance and Good bottom balanced at the same time, unless your cells are matched to 100%. Its either you have Good balance at top or good balance at bottom for an average cell. Turning on balancing at below 3V is not going to solve anything. It will balance at the Bottom, and also balance at to top, in essence there is no gain. |

Edrizz:The Earthing thing was my conclusion. but since my last comment about MPPT efficiency, I got some responses that assumed i was making things up, hence I didn't respond to the interference issue. This plague applies to those 30V - 400V MPPT as it only happens when the Solar input is on. No Earthing you are good 😊, But..... |

Dam5reey1:Wait oo 1st is top balance 2nd active balance to maintain it incase of derail. We dey learn everytime. So wat is your point? I fit still learn new tin. N.B: Am not saying balancer is needed for derailed battery not well top BALANCED from initial. |

Na me pay ooo. my brother I hope you read the part where I said the setup didn't last upto 48 hours. Which Client go wan listen to your excuses and troubleshooting in such instance? I jejely respected myself and bought another Inverter and Battery and installed for them ooo. It's a painful reality ooo. That's why some products are so popular while some will never make it past Alaba market. I am someone who never installs anything lower than Growatt and Felicity for clients. After hearing lots of noises about SRNE, SAKO, SMS, etc etc, I decided to try out the SAKO due to client's low budget. See how the whole thing ended up. This Installation almost messed up my Xmas ooo. Anyway sha, Lesson learned in hard way. Any client that wants a low budget installation henceforth go buy the devices themselves, my own na to install am for am with plenty of caveats. Drgreatone: |

jonescosmos:Lessons learnt boss, Can't even trust any seller again. So much cutting corners here and there. Lost trust to extent I decided to build LFP batteries myself, use my own BMS tested and trusted settings, which gave me more peace of mind. |

hayzhed:I agree with him. In fact that is what I'm doing. It is all part of the principle of using your appliances well below the specifications with the aim of prolonging their lives. No, I will not spend extra money to pay for expensive charge controller if I have a quality hybrid that I know can do the job. But for someone like me who started my solar journey long ago before hybrid inverters became popular, I found it more convenient and better for my equipment to continue to use my separate charge controllers rather than discarding or selling them off. My hybrid inverter has never been connected to solar panels and continues to stand by as backup if anything happens to my charge controllers. The other reason why you may want to stick to a separate charge controller is if you have a large number of panels that may exceed your hybrid inverter's solar input. I have 10KW panels for example, and my hybrid inverter has about 110A MPPT which is less than the maximum I could get from my panels. Also if your built-in Charge controller is PWM, it is better to get separate MPPT Controller. |
