Banana Island, home to some of Africa's wealthiest individuals, is facing a crisis of illegal construction. Hon. Niyi Oyemade, a former lawmaker and commissioner, has raised an alarm about an unauthorized structure being built next to his property. The construction has compromised the safety of his home and poses a threat to nearby residents. Despite multiple petitions and a stop-work order, the building continues.

The former lawmaker, who represented the people of Ikeja at the State House of Assembly, reports that his house at 218 Close, Zone J, has been directly affected by the construction. He has highlighted several violations and potential dangers, including the collapse of his fence wall.

Environmental experts warn of potential dangers from the reclaimed land. The ex-lawmaker urges authorities to take immediate action to halt the construction and enforce safety measures. The construction company, Attarhi Nigeria Limited, owned by Simeon Oladipo Adebo, Adedotun Rotimi Adeyemo, Obinna Anthony Chukwuneta, and Sower Sower And Messuarius Solicitors, continues despite the violations.

Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious construction activities to the appropriate authorities to maintain the safety and integrity of the community.

Selfishness. Don't mind him. How did he know there were no approvals. What I saw in that fence is the request to remove the new blocks on the existing fence. I'm sure he procured that notice.
