Dey play! The same Saudi that single-handedly crushed USA's plans to become a major oil exporter through the shale oil revolution. Saudi is becoming liberal, no doubt about that. But the USA got NOTHING to do with that. Saudi simply wants to attract high-paying tourists and probably investors from wherever they can come from.

Before America gives you aid there are some conditions they must make you fulfill as nothing comes free from them. Since after the end of Second World War and rise of Oil Saudi citizens were known for being terrorists and hijacking planes back then and killing innocent people in the name of Allah until 2001… since after that September 11th 2001 attack on US where it was confirmed majority were Saudi citizens they poured a lot of money into many programs in the country . Today you hardly find hardliner immams there , don’t stone people or behead people etc for crimes anymore their children almost as Americanized as American children. All the favorite American food chains like Burger King etc, movies, lifestyle etc are now what they prefer
