Good day my fellow Nairalanders . Hope everyone of you out there is doing just great because I on my own has being so stressed out recently 😔. Even to the extent that I always forget my phone,not until I get home by the end of the day after every stressful day....It hasn't been an easy feat but we'll keep pushing on so long it's what we've been doing to put food on our tables...

So about three days ago,my banny and I thought of relocating from our present apartment because the size of the one room self-contained was really small......Tho I rented it while I was a full time bachelor 😊. I never knew a day would come when I'd start preparing to take somebody's daughter to the altar😊. But here I am now, sitting on a very hot Seat😔..... Please nobody should misquote me because I didn't say I'm about to consider getting married,even tho I'm contemplating on it

But searching for a new apartment became a problem for the past few days because I had to yield to the pressure from my banny stating that I must employ the service of a housing agent just to hasten our search....And of which I did, plunging me into paying three different agents 5k each......

Now the problem isn't the fact that I paid different agents but the fact that they were all unwilling to help......I noticed that immediately I paid them for registration,the apartments they all took me to where apartments that can only be rented by someone who's under an urgent quit notice from a landlord

The one that then broke my heart was when one of them contacted another agent and they connived and took me to a house that's yet to be completed . They were trying to sweet mouth and compel me to pay a 18 months rent,that it'd be completed within three days.....But my head no gree bend for their scope

Funniest thing was that I was the one carrying them from the different apartments they took us to with my Keke

Omoh,after a three days search,I took my banny to a very cool bush bar, bought her what she needed and what I equally needed...Then I reasoned with her ,and we have decided to pin our precious assssss down here where we have always been.......As a matter of fact we have even started major renovations after we have been given the go-ahead by my landlady

Omoh, within the period of three days, house agents frustrated me to the extent that I have lost both weight and appetite .

These people are truly heartless,and I don't know if I'm the only one who have this kinda feeling but I'm not pleased at all

House/Land Agents in Nigeria are demons. Those guys reap for a living. It's all about the 3k visitation fees for them if they notice your desperation.

You need to stay rugged, give them specifications and let them know upfront you won't pay a single dime if they take you to any apartment that doesn't meet your predefined preferences.

BTW, why you dey call your fiancée Banny? Sounds disrespectful. Or maybe na me be old school

I believe your intensity to get a house made them treat you as such. You don't approach Agents (or Nigerians) with desperation written all over your face. When you do, their intention will automatically change from rendering a service to ripping you off. To them, dem don see opportunity to chop this one.
Na how to collect the small kish wey dey ya hand them go dey look for.
The way we behave for this country they always make me vex. Me I don't wonder why Nigeria is bad because I know why but what I don't like is how Nigerians will try to pin it on someone's head somewhere while exonerating themselves of any wrong doing.
Na Nigerians go carry dirts from their house go throway for road or inside gutter.
Even you wey be Keke rider sef, you follow for the misbehaviour wey dey happen daily for this country. I know the pepper wey una dey show car drivers for road but now you dey complain of agents. Shey you no think say the madness na general madness?
For this country to get better, we will all have to do better. It's very simple! We the way we all currently behave, Nigeria will keep going down and things will continue to get worse.
I just read now, that retired Army Generals are responsible for the ILLEGAL MINING going on in the country. Can you imagine that? And I want to believe that the ones still in service too go dey involved.
I know of a woman who is just a wife to an Army Officer who is not even a general. If you see the kind of lush edifice (eatery, event center, pharmacy etc) this woman built with like 4 to 5 gigantic buildings inside the premises, you will wonder if she was into hard drugs business or any other crime. Na now I know one of the sources of income for them

Best thing to do honestly, some will still say they didn't hear the instructions and will try to sweet talk you into the apartment that did not meet your specification
