Android17:Still no. Poch is supposed to have over a decade's worth of top division football experience. He was here for a full year, and no Chelsea fan could identify us with any reasonable way or method of playing. Maresca had only one full season of Championship football ever; yet has immediately imprinted his style and methods on the team, clear for everyone to understand and see. The fact that he's contending in the same result zone as Poch, show that tactically and technically, he's miles ahead of Poch. Poch was not treated unfairly abeg. On top of this, Maresca is a yes man in his own employment, with no absolute power over who stays, who leaves and quite frankly, who he must play because of circumstances of their contract length. Given all the conditions, he's doing fantastically well. Is he going to make rookie mistakes? Yes. Absolutely! All those yapping are talking out of context. None of your favourite top class managers would work under these conditions, let alone produce results. Let's dead that matter finally. With Maresca I stand. Give him the tools to work with, and he will do well. |

swiz123:Mumu at the point he slipped, what can Haaland do here, with Cucurella on the cover except that eediot Sanchez did not give Haaland an out. He's done his work of holding up Haaland till cover arrived.

nateevs:Someone that isn't tactically flexible? Someone that Leicester fans disliked for almost bottling a 30 points Championship lead? Chelsea is not a training club for mid championship managers. We are a club for top quality managers. Look at the club for the last 20 years and tell us how any mid-level manager performed or fared? Endure mid-level managers and become a mid-club with a losing mentality. Mid-level managers that cower at the sight of big clubs and set up their teams to narrowly lose or get a draw against top clubs. We don't care about his style of football or methods. Sarri had his unique style but we wanted him out. Conte had his 3-4-3 style but we booted him out. Maresca is in no way better than or even equal to Poch. Poch even had serious injuries to senior players in his team. And he was bold enough to at least stand to these stupid directors and owners. Maresca is just a lap dog that will eat up whatever they say. It isn't a coincidence that multiple top managers rejected this failed £1.5bn project. |

wman:I don't even know the tactics he keeps hammering on, tactic we don't see in times of crises. The team has been on a downward slope for a while and the great maresca tactic is no where to bail us. How can one person be supporting Jackson and maresca at the same time? No be witchcraft be that? |

wman:Carry your vex and meet the owners. Which one concern Mareca? This season alone, Maresca has played 4 at the back, 3 at the back, inverted left back, inverted right back, inverted LB into 6, inverted LB into 8. Inverted RB into 6, inverted RB into 8. 2 attacking 8s, 2 defensive 6s, one DM, and one floating 6/8..... Palmer on the right 8, Palmer on the left 8. Please don't tell me about Maresca not being tactically flexible. Y'all may not be paying attention. Meanwhile, your owners and Directors are implementing a ban on transfers for over 25s. Your owners are leaving Madueke in the team as our main RW, Sanchez as our main GK, no experienced CBs, Andrey Santos on loan, stock-piling kids, selling English players and Academy for profit - Gallagher, Hall, Chalobah, Odoi, etc. Then they had one full month to address the matter, and not a single player walked through the door. Instead we shamelessly went to recall a defender they said had to be frozen out? There's 3 goals between Sancho and Neto so far all season, and you want magic. Please leave Maresca out of this shit abeg. How many of your favourites can take this team to 2nd place on the table? Abi you think it was by luck? |

rooftops:We had a very strong Chelsea team on a downward slope to 11th with JM in charge. And tactics did not help at that time of the crisis. What were your views at the time? |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by rooftops: 11:24pm On Jan 25, 2025 |
nateevs:My view is that his tactic won us trophy the season before, so he is excused not this mid coach with mid ambitions. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by nateevs(m): 11:27pm On Jan 25, 2025 |
rooftops:And my view is that Mareca's tactics took us up to 2nd this season. A feat Poch could not smell at his best. Maresca did not advertise himself as a PL winning manager before your owners hired him. So what is the misplaced outrage about? |

nateevs:I think this is where you getting it wrong, our current position is what matters most. If season ends today, no champions league for us. So him getting us to second earlier in the season is inconsequential if by the end of season we finish 15th. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by ToyinDipo(m): 11:33pm On Jan 25, 2025 |
Android17:He might have won about two more champions league, as he has had some very technical players that will easily adapt, but what will Xavi for instance be doing when the midfield is bypassed. |

swiz123:He is not the first to slip or be outmuscled by Haaland, dem plenty for that table. What matters is he'd done enough to slow Haaland down to where Cuku had caught up, but Sanchez decided to wreck everything |

Android17:Although City won, you're quite correct!! Chelsea killed their game the moment they chose defence and hopping on counters...cuz i saw how sluggish City was from my end, each time Chelsea was tryna counter/attack,Kova was lethargic, same as Kashanov or whatsoever (they'll miss walker in that regard).😑😎 |

nateevs:Oga Nateevs. Please let us not airmarkify this conversation. When Poch was here, the narrative was "it is all on the manager, another manager will handle these players better". You yourself said you'd never criticize the players until you saw them under another manager. A.K.A they will cook under another manager. You even did victory laps here. No backpedalling. I like the energy. Let us keep it the same. No need for "give him the right tools". I've not made any conclusions on EM. He can still finish top 3 and the difference will be clear, but your arguments here won't hold up if he finishes below 6th - I'll tell you that. Siddonlookmode. |

Ibime:Fernandinho played for City for 9 years and could not deliver a CL Rodri came and did it in under 5 years along with only the second ever treble in English football history Rodri won the ballon d'or (debatable, but even having him in the conversation alone is enough) as a DM Fernandinho ko, Archduke Franz Ferdinand ni |
