God1000:Put it under vocational education instead and make it mandatory for secondary school students to choose at least one Junior secondary don't have the foundation nor the emotional stability required to patiently acquire such life-skills |

StarRiderr:Really?... that one makes no sense ..phones are becoming even more difficult to repair and being upgraded in a relatively short time. Tinubu probably believe one needs screw drivers and wire and solder gun to o phone repairs. Maybe tiling. Plumbing is great.... and so is hair making. |

The technological revolutionary economy is possible by injecting technical & Vocational trades into our educational curriculum. This is in line with the adage that says catch them young. This initiative will put our dear country on the path of development as seen in some developed countries like China. Pupils/students across our institutional system can gain technical inside in some critical areas aimed at changing the direction of our economy from a consumption perspective to a production giant. Key advice to the drivers of this initiative is to ensure well-qualified and competent hands are recruited, and attention should be given to infrastructural development to support learning. Constant monitoring and supervision habits should be inculcated, and staff welfare should be of paramount importance to avoid the program going down due to poor salaries and benefits. |

Originalsly:A structured curriculum should address your concerns. The curriculum allows learning to be intergrated in stages, like basics at the primary level, intermediate at the junior secondary section while advance is taught at the senior level. |

How many of politicians family members are doing the plumbing and the hairstyling. You people have sin against humanity. Natural justice will come upon you all. Wicked animals in human cloth. |

ADAMUdaCOWBOY:Welcome to Nigeria. This would have been a great time to make professional skills more accessible beginning with serious STEM-related programs from the elementary level. But no, rather than heavily invest in creating more doctors, scientists, engineers, architects, designers, and highly skilled workers to take on the jobs to ensure that companies that come to invest can hire more local skilled workers, your Kakistocrat-class leaders would rather train people to work as slaves for them and the many foreign skilled hands/expatriates they will undoubtedly have to bring in with them. ![]() |

Profound001:But did you see clowns above praising the move? Do you know any country in the world that became great by producing many carpenters and tailors and hairdressers? OGA do you not think that a rare kind of foolishness has taken over most Nigerians for them to be praising nonsense? Dont you think we deserve these leaders you are angry with. |

I'm literally sick of you guys. In 1967-70, the Biafran engineers locally managed production of engineering systems to wage war against Nigeria, US, Russia, UK, Egypt etc. in a subtle world war tagged “Nigerian Civil War ”, that was fought in Biafra Land; Yet, in 2025, this is all that Nigerians can see themselves as: hair dressers, plumbers etc. Shameful. You people have finally destroyed Africa. |

Profound001:The people are their own worst enemies. Imagine individuals applauding the fact that their government intends to retain their kids as slaves through the very educational system that is instead supposed to be their way out of the low class where many of them have been for generations. No be curse be that? ![]() |

franchasofficia:Political Science is a good course. Accounting is the KING OF ALL THE BUSINESS COURSES. Let Nigeria carry both vocational and social science and business degree courses along. It is better a student study both vocational and non vocational course. Where there are opportunities he or she taps. |

God1000:Yes I agree with you My problem is if they will equip the workshop with facilities in other for the students to do their practicals? Or this will be another avenue for them to be syphoning money Not that Nigeria government do not know the problem of the country but it is greed that is causing all these |

Commendable!!! 👏 But make e no just be theories only. Because that's how, for example, most schools teach Computer Science, which is suppose to be majorly practical. If well implemented, will boost the nation's productivity and by extension the economy. But if we are really serious as a country, we should fix this electricity of a thing once and for all. If nah to borrow massively to fix it, let's do it with intent and purpose. With good roads and stable electricity, insecurity will reduce drastically, and our economy will be better for it. Because, for a country that needs at least 100k megawatts on our national grid, and keeps experiencing all these reoccurring collapse of our 3500 megawatt, we will just remain a country that is like a guy winking at a girl in the dark. |

Dapson73:Firstly, the federal government is not responsible for basic education, so T-Pain is only doing this to excite his olodo empty skull followers. Secondly, he has no record of free education for ALL children in Lagos State since 1999 despite claiming to be progressive. He is only progressive in increasing IGR and budget 60 times in 25 years of his lootocracy master plan. Thirdly, God doesn’t bless announcements. God blesses the work of our hands and brains. anonimi: |

TechCapon:What of the days of our country having the highest number of children out of school? Is that over also because of this ANNOUNCEMENT? What % of the children who are lucky to be in school, are getting free education from public schools with PDP’s federal funding UBEC support for states in their responsibility ![]() |

It is unfortunate that our leaders are not serious! Have they recruited instructors to impact these to the learners? Or they want to make use of the former Tutors who have no idea of the newly introduced subjects that are to start this January? The story will remain same at the end of the day if the needful is not done! |

A wonderful and welcome development I consider a helpful initiative needed for revamping the educational section and future of our children. Please President Tinubu, kindly use this medium to abolish Bible knowledge and islamic religious knowledge completely from the school curriculum. We want children with complete skills capable of self employment after schools training and not the one already 'harmed' mentally or 'armed' with manipulative mentality who later become pastors having acquired basic religious teaching and later claiming God called them. Well done Mr president. |

Our education system is one the main cause of our under productivity. Reduce crime rate. Lol. You did not even ask to know the purchasing power of the people that are going to patronise these artisans. Money has no value in nigeria. These guys will still live from hand-to-mouth! Government needs to do the first and right thing. "Improve the economy" let the money be flowing, so people wont be stressing themselves with too much work! All our money are in the hands of a few people! MatrixCircle: |
