This is a useless motive. Or should i say doing the right thing at the wrong time. After learning all these, this guys will still struggle and live poor at the end because no good purchasing power from their customers to patronise dem. They will fall into depression in the long run. Fix the country economy first. Especially the financial aspects. The truth is, they are some useless policies that will render this vocational skills useless for this guys when they turn adults. Let our currency have value. Let there be better social amenities and infrastructures. Let there be access to food(easy planting, harvesting, transporting), let there be soft landing of materials for production(importation). Reduce tax. Stop excessive spending in government. Top notch security with forensics, monitoring, camera and surveillance. With these things, those students will live easy with their skills. Nigerian government are bunch of idoits! |

Government makes policies without consulting teachers that implement them. Go to schools and see that there are scarcity of teachers in all the government schools. Were do you get teachers to train students on those subjects? |

God1000:Let them also provide the equipment for the training, this is the main problem of our educational sector. I hope we also don't end up with all theories upon theories where the little equipment if at all where it is provided wouldn't be looted by teachers and principals and taken to their own private business premises. |

It still doesn't change anything. They are still feeling the rot in our system if they are living in Nigeria. The country needs primary(foundation) repairs, not secondary(vocational skills). You are initiating skills for people with no good environment for dem! The poverty circles continues. MatrixCircle: |

Buhari shouldn't have ruled Nigeria. This ought to have started years ago, by now people won't be jobless. |

Bad idea... This is foolishness... So what will happen to those who don't have access to education. I can fix a phone and my toilet even wire a house. I wasn't taught all these. We are still struggling to teach maths English and biology now they want to add theoretical classes for GSM repair, so that their will be worksheets for student on how to label a phone and 60 multiple choice on GSM repair without prior practical knowledge. |
| Re: FG Adds Hairstyling, Plumbing, GSM Repair To Basic Education Curriculum by sprints1: 2:36pm On Jan 26, 2025 |
lexy2014:public schools will draw PVC connectors on the board and GSM asking the pupils to label it while private schools will print it for them with 60 multiple choice questions on GSM repairs and ask the basic tech teacher who has no knowledge a bout the subject to draw the scheme and start teaching the subjects and English teacher will teach hair dressing |

ADAMUdaCOWBOY:What exactly is wrong with praising a good initiative. We are clowns and foolish for praising a move that will empower people, a move that will still generate capacity for the country. How many countries in the world became great? The 2 greatest countries in the world have its carpenters, mechanics and plumbers and hairdressers doing great things. Na lack of exposure dey make u think these people can't innovate or can't add to the growth of the Nigeria. The great countries u are shouting still have their local mechanics, plumbers, carpenters building these things that make them great that they ship over to your country to make u a forever consuming nation. We know say Tinubu and co no make sense but don't close your mind to logical reasoning. Sometimes be objective and remove ur political leaning from issues |

obaidan:You are right, the great countries have their carpenters and plumbers and iron benders doing great things but you never hear them talk down on their engineers, Nurses and doctors like one of your co clowns did here, hoping less people will study medicine so that we can bring in forex. What a very poor mind! All those great countries that value their carpenters and plumbers value their doctors and engineers and teachers. They have textiles companies and steel rolling plants, they don't just import fabric and turn all their youth to tailors or export iron ore and import reinforcement bars only to encourage their youth to all be iron benders! If that is the one that pained you then I repeat, NO COUNTRY EVER BECAME GREAT BY CHURNING LARGE NUMBERS OF TAILORS AND PLUMBERS AND CARPENTERS! |
