Before America gives you aid there are some conditions they must make you fulfill as nothing comes free from them. Since after the end of Second World War and rise of Oil Saudi citizens were known for being terrorists and hijacking planes back then and killing innocent people in the name of Allah until 2001… since after that September 11th 2001 attack on US where it was confirmed majority were Saudi citizens they poured a lot of money into many programs in the country . Producing for consumption or for sale? We are talking the global market here, not domestic consumption. Saudi the remains the world's largest oil exporter. US wanted to use fracking as a means to wrestle global oil market control from the likes of Saudi and they got burnt. Or how come many fracking firms in the US went bankrupt as soon as Saudi flooded the global market with oil and cut prices by over 60% some years back.?

There is nothing like producing for domestic market and producing for international market, indeed you are a novice. Ranking of producers are based solely on total production and not whether yiu are producing for local refineries majorly or producing for foreign refineries. The US also supply crude WTI to dangote refinery and others and also receive from others too.

Companies inti oil shale fracking are ongoing, currently in the US, oil shale production peaked in 2023 and is still going on. Don't know where you are getting your information from, that a few company went into economic crises because of production costs exceeding the price of crude oil in the international market doesn't mean all production ended in the US go and do your research. This is why the US is the biggest oil producer in the world

Secondly, if there's truly "nothing like producing for domestic market and producing for international market" as you have stated, why is the US still dependent on Saudi oil despite being the world's largest domestic producer? I hope you know that the US is one of the biggest buyers of Saudi oil?

Get this clearly: You can produce as much oil as you want, but if it's majorly for domestic consumption (or for whatever reason, you still find it cheaper to import than produce yours) and you still even depend on additional oil from other countries, you have little to no say in the dynamics of the global oil market. Yes, the US still exports oil, but they are not even among the top 10 in the world, which places them clearly outside the league of major market players. Saudi exports over 500% of the oil US exports!!

Again, the US can't say a word about the global oil market where the likes of Saudi and Russia are!

And back to the comment that prompted my first reply on this post: US is not even among the top 10 countries in terms of expats and annual tourists to Saudi Arabia. So, I wonder why Saudi's recent moves could have been influenced in any way by the US.
