What do you need our validation for as you are not sure about your own opinion
You created a Tinubu progress thread yesterday.

And doctors dearth in a country, is not a sign of progress, so what is your government doing to curtail this Japa trend?

Are you gonna increase salaries , upgrade hospitals from money gained from subsidy removals, build houses for doctors/health professionals as BAT did for military men, etc??

I have said this before and I will say it again: there are some Biological Science and Life Science graduates out there who graduated with good grades, and wish to enroll into medical programs but do not have the wherewithal to achieve it. The federal government should consider sponsoring these ones to medical schools and condition them that they must practice here in the country upon their graduation.

If this report is actually true, then the government should come up with the policy without further delay; else, we have an impending health crises
Your suggestion wouldnt have been a bad idea. But if and when the government does that and the candidates wants to travel out on completion, you and I will be here discussing elementary economics on topics like mobility of labour and of course barely literate ones here too will be talking about the violation of the right of the citizens to freedom of wareva.

The ones who have been trained at almost next to nothing find it convenient to bad mouth the country immediately their air borne plane crosses over Benin Republic enroute Europe.

They are still plenty, according to Dr. Chris Ngige...!

Anyway, Canada and Middle East are still having shortages in specific areas of Medical specialties.

So, that 6,000 will be 3,000 by 2027. lipsrsealed
My doctor friend arrived a few days ago. He’s staying with us at the moment for the next couple of weeks until he sorts himself out. I just showed him this thread, and he’s just laughing. Any doctor still remaining in Nigeria has serious loyalty. 6,000 doctors for over 250 million people, yet Nigerians are more concerned about what Trump is doing in America 😂😂😂

It will take 6-7 years to train them in medical school and it will take another 5-8 years to train them to come to the level of consultant

200,000,000 estimated nigeria population divided by 6000= 33,333 . Nigeria is messed up and the earlier all these politicians stops traveling out for medical reasons they will have to take this serious .the negative implications of this medical practitioners migration for greener pasture will be borne by the poor and average citizens

Medical doctors are the No 1 legal migrants.

No, he won't!

Trump can do nothing to legal immigrants, especially those badly needed in specific sectors like Medicine and Science.

It's rascals who sneak into America through every route possible Trump is after...!

Do consultants look like people who need to illegally enter any country?!!
Well said.

Doctors are first class citizens in USA

They always clamour for money.

They won't push for accreditation of medical schools.

They won't push for larger quota if medical school graduates.

They won't push for better working conditions.

Always money.

Lol

Do you know, for instance, that to write just one medical postgraduate exam (West Africa College of Physicians), you're spending over one million Naira?

Then add cost of textbooks, compulsory and optional courses that are close to 100k each.

If you mistakenly fail the exam, you have to pay afresh and rewrite.

Should I give my family sand and stones to eat?

Again, I laugh because you're obviously not aware that medical school quotas all over the country was increased recently by as high as 60%. Go and verify. Every medical school in Nigeria have been approved to train more students

If you also listen to NARD, you will realize resident doctors have been pushing for better working conditions from time immemorial
