It is open source. Which means every line of code will be scrutinized. They will be foolish to embed any spy or malicious code in it.

Don't mind china

Always copying and never being the first to develop some thing.

I was reading about kuka robot last night and wanted to know the owner .

I was shock to know that china acquired it in 2016 but it was invented in Europe .

That robot alone can create more of it's kind

Absolutely spot on, similar to my thoughts on this technology, people are just too quick to celebrate China,s copycat success

quote author=smokinloud post=133901772] It's worth taking a closer look at the fanfare surrounding DeepSeek's recent achievements. While they've undoubtedly made progress, let's not get ahead of ourselves. The reality is that DeepSeek is still a long way off from rivaling the likes of OpenAI and ChatGPT.

It's hardly a secret that DeepSeek's operations rely entirely on NVIDIA's infrastructure. $5 million dollars is not sufficient to build a sophisticated ai system.

But even if we set aside these concerns, the fact remains that DeepSeek's business model is built on shaky ground. By renting existing infrastructure rather than investing in their own technology, they're essentially trying to compete on the cheap. It's a strategy that might yield short-term gains, but it's hardly a recipe for long-term success.

Hello,it's China we're talking about here

They don't care....they even openly steal US technology ignoring copyrights violations and lawsuits.

Still, it's not a good thing when we completely rubbish ourselves.

Remember Japan once conquered and enslaved china too

If China can rise then there's still hope(albeit a very tiny one) for us.

It's only the timeframe that's uncertain
Well you made a valid point...... Just wish we could forge our own party.... But the insults will not cease if we have people on here supporting Russia, China or the West.... We will continue to be grass that suffers

It's not easy to copy advanced tech sha ..I give them credit for that

But at the end of the day, they'll always need the west to show the way.

That's why I doubt they'll ever truly be the world's most powerful nation. They don't create, they follow and copy.

The West's demise will be self-inflicted, and China is poised to capitalize on their downfall. The foundational values that made Western civilization great are being systematically dismantled.

The forces of "Islamism through DEI" - a euphemism for the insidious creep of radical ideology into Western institutions - are hell-bent on destroying the very fabric of western society. They're aided and abetted by useful idiots who genuinely believe that erasing their own cultural heritage and traditions will somehow create a more "inclusive" and "equitable" world.

Meanwhile, China watches with great interest, its leaders no doubt salivating at the prospect of surpassing the West. And why wouldn't they? Westerners are doing all the heavy lifting for them, dismantling their own very civilization from within.

Make no mistake, the stakes are high. If Westerners continue down this path, we risk losing the very essence of Western civilization. And when we do, China will be waiting in the wings, ready to pick up the pieces and assert its dominance over a world in chaos.

Your smartphone is useless if you cannot use it to seek the information you ignorantly don't have, stop disgracing yourselves in public. A simple google search of the words "China's Inventions" would have cured you of this high level ignorance.

Everybody dey comment you sef wan comment, na rubbish you eventually comment instead to just keep quiet make sensible people comment.

Knowledge doesn't belong to one sub group, humans have longed copied each other from the beginning of time, we grew up to hear that Egypt was the cradle of civilization meaning a lot of what the western world developed, Egypt already knew and did most of it, the western world just improved on it just like the Chinese is improving on what the western world developed. It's human nature.

So yes, the Chinese is far ahead in technology.

Tech is the present and the future. And if China has to wait for the west before they can achieve any technological feat through copying, then they will always be dependent on them for new ideas. And so they'll never be truly able to overthrow them.

In other words, you are saying that the chinese are not smart enough to know that rigging a software you plan to release to the public is foolishness at best. Do you even realize the hundreds of thousands of researchers that will go through every line of code of the software?

The US will never permit DeepSeek to become a legitimate competitor. Its reliance on NVIDIA's infrastructure alone ensures it will remain beholden to American interests.

I agree with you...but the West's ascendancy in technology is not merely a product of ingenuity, but a direct consequence of its foundational commitment to freedom and liberty. It is this ethos that has fostered an environment of innovation, unshackling human potential and allowing the West to surge ahead. But make no mistake, if this bedrock of freedom is eroded, the West's preeminence will be short-lived. China, with its ruthless efficiency and authoritarian grip, will rapidly overtake the West, exploiting the vacuum left by Western own self-destructive tendencies.

Just look at how western media is playing table tennis with your head, you actually think America will fold their hand when one of their company Nvidia already lost half a trillion on just hearing a new kid is the block? *Fundamental commitment to freedom and liberty...But China itself isn't exactly operating on this principle

China is an authoritative communist state which does not give much freedom and liberty. And if these are the driving forces of technological advancement in the west as you pointed out then, China basically has no hope of catching up nor overthrowing them.
