2027: I Am Not Against A Coalition - Peter Obi by Bobloco(op): 1:57am On Jan 29, 2025
The Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Peter Obi, has denied being against the idea of a formidable coalition that can restore the hope of Nigerians ahead of the 2027 elections.

Obi made his position known via his official X account on Tuesday.

He had earlier rejected efforts by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and some opposition leaders to form a coalition ahead of the next general elections.

Obi emphasised that he would not endorse any coalition if the motive is restricted to mere power grabbing.

The former Anambra State governor spoke on the sideline of a two-day national conference on strengthening democracy in Nigeria, themed; “Strengthening Nigeria’s Democracy: Pathway to Good Governance and Political Integrity,” held on Monday in Abuja.

But the LP chieftain on Tuesday made a U-turn, saying his interview was misrepresented.

He wrote, “I have observed that my honest interview yesterday was misquoted by many media outlets, creating a false narrative that misrepresents my position. Let me set the record straight. I am not against coalition. In truth, I am for it, not for a power grab but to position Nigeria for greatness.

“I have not, and will never advocate for any coalition or alliance that does not prioritise the welfare and progress of the ordinary Nigerian.

“Any discussion about governance must be centred on what it means for everyday Nigerians and how it will address critical issues such as access to quality healthcare and education and pulling people out of poverty.

“Too often in our nation’s history, individuals and groups have come together solely for the purpose of taking power for power’s sake. Such endeavours, devoid of genuine purpose and vision, have only deepened our challenges, leaving the ordinary Nigerian to bear the brunt of bad governance. This is what I stand firmly against.

“Leadership must be about service, not self-interest. As I have always maintained, the New Nigeria is possible.

“But it requires us to change the way we think about power. It is not about grabbing it; it is about using it responsibly to transform lives and secure a brighter future for generations to come.”

You can't be too inconsistent and want to be taken seriously.

One man left PDP to AC to PDP to APC to PDP and he wants to be president. If you can't be loyal to one party, how can you be trusted to be loyal to a country?

The other one went from APGA to PDP (despite vowing never to leave APGA) to LP and flip flops on things he says. He claimed he'd remove subsidy on day 1; now he says he'd have done a phased removal. He supported the naira repainting fraud of Emefiele that ruined many people's economic life that Nigerians are eventually buying naira with naira. Today, he is saying he'd write to the president to complain that Nigerians are facing hardship because of the outcome of what he supported.

Nigeria is too diverse to be handed to inconsistent people. How can you be flipping and flopping like McDonalds burger by the minute?

Ok ooo.

**Meanwhile..

ABOUT THE UPCOMING FUTURE ELECTIONS...

We cannot just continue to be participating in future elections -- if WE don't first-of-all force the INEC (Through Court Orders) to always ensure that ALL their Collation-Officers make use of the “BVAS-Machines” to settle ALL the Disputes that are raised by the party-agents and accredited observers before them.
(No matter at what Level Of Collation the disputes were raised).

The Collation Officers are bound by the Electoral Act to settle such disputes that were raised at their collation centers..
And there are penalties for Collation Officers who refused to do due diligence during Collation..

We cannot continue to be participating and voting in elections where the Collation Officers would continue to treat us like filthy rags every time..

Do you understand Nigerian geopolitics better than Soludo huh
If Pandora Bitter Obi and his tribal headless mob were conscientious about their role in making ebilokan possible, should they not be apologising and doing restitution?

jameshankss:
Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has said he is sure the candidate of Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi, would lose the 2023 presidential election. Soludo said he would not submit to the bullying of Obi’s supporters, who recently descended on him for addressing issues in the state.

The governor made the comments in a lengthy write-up personally authored, with the title, “History Beckons, and I Will Not Be Silent (Part 1).”

Soludo said Obi was inadvertently making the pathway to victory much easier for the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, and at the same time, toying with the destiny of millions of Ndigbo.

But the chief spokesperson for the Labour Party Presidential Campaign, Yunusa Tanko, accused Soludo of being sponsored by some unknown persons to weaken the base of the party in the South-east.

The former CBN governor had been under intense attack for close to a week for dismissing Obi’s investment in the state as amounting to nothing, during a television interview.

Soludo said in the write-up, “My attention has been drawn to some of the tirades on social media following my frank response during an interview on Channels TV regarding the ‘investments’ Mr. Peter Obi claimed to have made with Anambra State revenues.

“Sadly, several of the comments left the issue of the interview to probe or suggest motives, inferred from my response on ‘investment’ that I am opposed to Peter Obi’s ambition and, therefore, committed a ‘crime’ for which the punishment is internecine abuse and harassment, even to my family.

“Everyone knows that I don’t follow the winds or one to succumb to bullies, or shy away from a good fight especially, when weighty matters of principles and future of the people are involved.”

Soludo said he had urged Obi to return to his former party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), to actualise his presidential bid. He added that he had always told the LP candidate to his face that he was not capable of winning the 2023 presidential election, especially, under LP, which had neither a councillor nor a local government chairman.

Soludo said Obi was not just his friend, but also his brother, but despite that, they have their political differences.

He stated, “For full disclosure, let me state that Peter Obi and I are not just friends, we call ourselves ‘brothers’. But we have political differences: he left APGA for PDP after his tenure as governor, while I have remained in APGA since 2013.

“During the last two governorship elections in Anambra in 2017 and 2021, he led the PDP campaigns but APGA won landslide in both elections. By the way, in 2016, he visited and proposed that I defect to PDP and contest the 2017 election against the incumbent Willie Obiano, but I declined.

“After my victory in November 2021, he called to congratulate me, as I did to him in 2010. That is the Anambra way: we fight fiercely during campaigns but share drinks at the next social events. After all, it was the Great Zik of Africa, who taught us that in politics, there are no permanent friends or permanent enemies but only permanent interests.”

Arguing that Obi’s presidential bid would only work in favour of Tinubu, Soludo said, “Indeed, if I were Asiwaju Tinubu, I would even give Peter Obi money as someone heading one of the departments of his campaign, because Obi is making Tinubu’s pathway to victory much easier by indirectly pulling down PDP.”

Obi, according to Soludo, would only deplete the votes of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and pave the path for an APC victory.

He stated, “The current fleeting frenzy, if not checked, will cost Ndigbo dearly for years. The South-east has the lowest number of votes of any region, but it is also the only region where the presidential race might be a four-way race (it is a two-way race in the other five regions) thereby, ensuring that our votes won’t count in the making of the next president of Nigeria.

Can you supply proof of drug peddling? Do you know what drug peddling means?

I'd advise you to be careful of mouthing things you can't prove. You might see it as cruise, but it can get you into trouble if those you accuse take you on. See Akpi singing "oil grammy". First time he was arrested, his mother begged. Second time he was arrested, his mother was silent and his lawyers pulled all the strings. Now his lawyers have abandoned him since he doesn't want to back down. If he is taken a third time, society won't blink. Learn from the mistakes of others so others won't learn from yours.

Don't get me started on how he cowers whenever he posts opinions that his mobs disagree with because he doesn't want to offend anyone.

Imagine what someone who is afraid of his own online irritants would do when northern cabals come for his jugular if he ever becomes president.
