Compare Okpara, Zik, Mbadiwe, Sam Mbakwe to Peter Obi. He is not fit to lace their shoes intellectually. Similarly, Atiku. ElRufai is one of a few politicians that can compare intellectually and sit comfortably with the great politicians of old.

Like I said Atiku and obi and Kwakwanso collectively don’t have the brains to unseat Tinubu. For God’s sake where were the brains in 2023. When they collectively had 14.6m votes? Did they have to lose election to realize they should have found a way to stay together? They think it’s just about forming coalition. Even if they form a coalition, they will fail because they are fundamentally dumb people. El-Rufai played dirty for Tinubu's ascension. He used all manner of tricks to get him there, as far as going with him to Chatham House to answer question for him on security. Fought tooth and nail that he won the APC presidential primary. Stood his ground that he could choose Muslim as vice. Went to supreme court to kill the cashless policy that should have helped the nation today. Same policy the new CBN governor is looking for way to reintroduce. He tried all he could to make Tinubu win the election by rally all the northern governors for him. Today the rest is history.
If their differences not sorted out before 2026, El-Rufai will use his mouth and letters to kill APC. That's just the fear Joe Igbokwe is nursing right now but some people doesn't think deep.

El-rufai is not someone you can trust on security matters. Few days ago, he was misyearning about possibility of military coup because he was sidelined. If he had managed his position we'll as a governor in Kaduna and managed security issue well, there won't be damning report about him. Why is there a relative peace in Southern Kaduna and Kaduna generally after he left office? Tinubu should not consider him, he's not to be trusted. He's considered a security risk and could not be cleared by the NSA.

Some people when they're in close to those in power they can't speak truth to them .
How can APC not hold any meeting even EXCO meeting since they won the last election.
If election nears now they'll start having meetings daily.

Africans cannot see beyond money. You are predictable. I already replied to someone who wrote similar so no need to rehash. Many of the richest people in Africa particularly Nigeria are the dumbest because their path to wealth did not involve intelligence but corruption, state capture criminality, influence peddling, nepotism and the fact that truly intelligent people walked away from public service after the military era. ElRufai is an exception.

The most intelligent Nigerians are abroad or in the private sector and they don’t necessarily chase wealth. Those that do tend to be very conservative because intelligence also tells one to be conservative with your wealth in a poor country. It takes an intelligent man to know that too much wealth comes with its own problems and to know when you have enough money. An intelligent man knows that at a level of success, you are just working to give it away because you can’t spend it yourself so why bother. The majority of intelligent and legitimately wealthy Nigerians don’t want to attract attention to themselves so they live a conservative life. To an intelligent man wealth gives peace and security. It is most often the dumbest that flaunt their wealth.

But to you a wealthy man is a man who has a mansion that is always empty, he has Ferraris on potholes ridden roads, he buys a Ferrari but he uses a road side mechanic to service it because there are no Ferrari dealerships in Nigeria. He pays a lot to bring the car to Nigeria but the car has no resale value. To you he is an intelligent man because he has money!

An intelligent man buys or builds a comfortable house in Nigeria, drives a practical car like a land cruiser, Lexus, he won’t even be caught dead in a G wagon. A wealthy intelligent man will not bring a Ferrari to Nigeria because there are no roads to enjoy the car, no dealerships to service the car and it will only attract attention from undesirables and ridicule from his peers.

He has his money invested in the stock market of properties abroad. He gets dividends in dollars. When he wants to enjoy his money, he goes abroad to exotic locations, stays in the best hotels, rents a ferrari on roads he can enjoy the car, comes back to Nigeria and drives his Lexus or lanceuiser like nothing happen. You don’t know him because he doesn’t flaunt his money. You don’t know him because he is an intelligent man but many of them are richer than the dumb people you put on a pedestal. You don’t know him because he does not seek recognition or awards from people and politicians he holds in contempt.

The problem in Nigeria is we have elevated mediocrity to great heights because the real intelligence has taken a backseat in our public affairs. Who were they how did they make their money? Customs, buying and selling, looting government money? Is that intellect? What did the intellect do for them when they were in office, what was the legacy of their intellect when they were in office.

They say when you roll around in sheet, you no longer recognize the smell. Criminals are the ones who manor money in Nigeria. So don’t equate financial success in Nigeria as a measure of intellect. ElRufai is one of the few real intellectuals in public service. Most intellectually gifted people cannot bring themselves to navigate the political space.


Although academic qualification are not always a reflection of intellect they are often a pointer. Peter Obi got a 3rd class in philosophy, Atiku got a diploma in hygiene. ElRufai is a first class graduate in Quantity surveying.

Ability to loot government funds, rig elections, make money from drug trafficking, forex tripping, government contracts, become rich because you are the sole agent for certain products is not a measure of intelligence. In the Nigerian context, it just means you are a hustler and you are prepared to whatever is required to make money. These are the qualifications of most people in the public space that you say look at what they were before! Those are not measures of intelligence. By saying look at what they were before you betray yourself because you are elevating and celebrating opportunists and thievery not intelligence.

I will keep saying that Tinubu gained nothing from sidelining Elrufai after publicly begging him to work with him, rather he lost a lot of goodwill from young northerners who are solidly with Elrufai. The reason why northerners stood with Tinubu against their own Atiku was because of the concept of "Amana (Trust)" that the likes of Elrufai stoked in their conscience to vote a Southerner. To see Tinubu go against that Amana leaves a bitter taste in the mouth of northerners.

Contrary to what most people think, even a repeat of 2023 three-way tickets with Tinubu, Obi and Atiku running separately will be tougher than expected because this time, a lot of northerners that voted Tinubu last time will vote Atiku. The toga of corruption that counted against Atiku will not sell because it can be argued that the status quo has not proven to be noticeably different. The fact that this government has not been able to successfully turn the tide on the economy will also count for something.

With the potential coalition and a repeat of the Atiku-Obi ticket with the support of Elrufai, the election might be over before 12p.m. This is because Tinubu has not been able to successfully galvanise the whole South behind him and might even struggle in the Southwest due to inflation and other factors.

I voted for Obi in the last election but if he there accept VP from Atiku, I bet you he's likely to lose more than 20% of 2023 votes, aside that don't forget we operate a very corrupt system. Where The military, NPF, INEC, etc can be easily compromised.
