Necessity is the mother of all invention. If beef is costly, there are alternatives like fish, mutton, lamb, chevron, pork, chicken etc. These are rich source of protein too. Nigerians, una too like complain.... |

Just to think that cows and chickens are the most hopeless animals in the world is damning. From birth/when it is hatched, it is groomed for the slaughter, and nothing else. For the case of chickens, it doesn't even have to become and adult before it is used to celebrate a birthday, or festive period. Similarly, Nigeria's economy is groomed for the slaughter by politicians from the beginning. A cow that sold ₦300k is now begged to be bought at ₦1.5m, and somehow, there are people forcing the likeness of a counterproductive government to the well-thinking Nigerians. |

Quelme:You are not well walahi Is it wrong for a productive member of the society to want to eat beef? Should that be luxury? The will and craving to eat beef should be a suppressed because we're Nigerians? The people cannot choose to eat whichever protein they crave for? Beef today, chicken tomorrow, turkey, tofu, pork etc? Mind you the prices of the alternatives you mentioned up there have also soared. Quote me and say your usual rubbish, I'm not gonna be surprised. |

| Re: Lagos Butchers Lament As Cow Prices Soar To ₦1.7 Million by Awagusom: 10:56am On Jan 30, 2025 |
there are many factors that contributed to that. Over 120 police, military, quarantine officers, including state factors like touts collecting produces fee. Imagine pay all the way to lagos . How do you expect cow to be cheap. Driver spend over 900k now as road settlement and produce. |
