Breaking: Massive Police Crackdown on Vehicles Without Third-Party Insurance—Have You Been Stopped Yet?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leeUHua1LJg?si=RLFpqNR2bZzq_wFM

Nigerian drivers, get ready—because starting February 1st, 2025, the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) will fully enforce third-party vehicle insurance on all public roads! If you’ve been driving freely without it, thinking it’s only VIO and FRSC officers that care, well… things are about to change!

For years, vehicle owners in Nigeria have been required to have third-party insurance under Section 68 of the Insurance Act 2003. But let’s be honest—most drivers only dealt with this when stopped by VIO (Vehicle Inspection Officers) or the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). The police? They had other matters to focus on.

But now, the NPF has entered the chat, and they are making it clear: No third-party insurance? No driving!

🚨 So What’s Behind This Sudden Enforcement?

The big question on every driver’s mind is: Why now? If third-party insurance has always been a requirement, why has the police suddenly decided to take charge of enforcing it?

Is this truly about protecting road users and ensuring accident victims get compensation?
Or is this just another tool for increasing ‘checkpoints’ and fines on the road?
Because let’s be real—Nigerians know how these things work. Could this mean more roadside delays, more “Oga, we need to talk” moments.

No, but people still drive without a valid roadworthiness certificate.

Im not bothered, I've always had my car insurance as I renew it every year together with the other particulars.
I don't even you can do each one separately, the licence office will do all for you once
