Yes oooo, that's the main Koko...

Try to pay your loan
Where you're given 500k and expected to pay 1,088,000 and your monthly delayed payments keep accumulating until you lose touch of how much you're actually owing.
Then they start harassing people on your contact.
They went as far as sending me a video where some folks were butchering someone like some party goat, claiming that a friend of mine was one of those guys, just to tarnish his imagine.
Only God knows how many people they had to send that video to.
Is that how to even recover a loan?
Gush!
Very disgusting people.
I told him not to pay them shishi again,no matter the amount left

This loan sharks are quite capable of ruining lives. They will deliberately trap you with loan while you watch helplessly as overdue charges being accumulated on daily basis.
It's better to ask a family member, relative or colleagues for money and pay back later because it's better to go through lesser shame than being traumatized by the loan sharks.

Step-by-step guide to report loan apps harassing you – FCCPC

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has provided Nigerians with a detailed guide on how to report loan apps that engage in harassment, particularly after loan repayment failures.

Online loan apps have become a popular choice for many Nigerians seeking quick financial relief. However, some lenders resort to aggressive tactics, including sending embarrassing messages — sometimes with personal photos — to the borrowers’ contacts when repayments are delayed. These actions have led to significant distress, with victims losing jobs and facing public humiliation.

In response to growing concerns, the FCCPC reiterated its commitment to safeguarding consumer rights. The Commission encourages Nigerians to report any instances of harassment from loan apps.

Here’s how to report:

Email: Send complaints to contact@fccpc.gov.ng.

Social Media: Message FCCPC directly on X.

Website: Visit fccpc.gov.ng, navigate to the “File a Complaint” section, and fill in your details. You’ll need to provide information such as the loan app’s name, contact details, loan amount, and a description of the issue.

The FCCPC assures consumers that their rights are being protected and businesses will be held accountable for unfair practices.

Which civil servant would accept their endless phone calls without bribe. By next month, they would call but no one would pick (as long as it is government workers)
That is not true. NCC is an agency of government, and they work perfectly well and effectively, without asking for any bribe or dime from you, it depends on who heads the commission.

I have a case in court with EaseCash.
They called my contacts on my due date even after making part payment of what I was supposed to pay earlier that day. It's a fight to the end.
The told my contacts I'm on the run with company money. Before then I was never a day overdue.
I pay before due dates. I mostly needed the money for emergencies and this time around because I had issues with transfer from my GTBank to Opay.
They give you a loan for 7 days then call you on the 6th day to tell you that your loan is over due. When you try to complain they say they use Chinese calendar.

It looks as if loan app operators dey plenty for nairaland oo. At least people take loans from banks, and they don't behave stupidly like the loan app shylocks. For your information, i have never collected any loan from any loan app. I can never even collect any loan from them, because most of them are shylocks, greedy, selfish and stupid. Before they start calling contacts, they suppose to have exploited all possible alternatives in resolving the matter, then if there is no positive result, then you can take other means to collect your money. This is how banks work

The interest rates are too much and downright obscene. In desperation, Nigerians will accept the terms but repayment will become a nightmare.
