Nigerians have faulted a claim by human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju that he started the #EndSARS protest in 2020 alongside the founder of #RevolutionNow Movement, Omoyele Sowore.

Adeyanju was responding to Chief Bisi Akande, former national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) who claimed that the #EndSARS protest was orchestrated by Obidients to stop the presidential ambition of President Bola Tinubu.

According to Akande, a former governor of Osun state "The Obidients were behind the #EndSARS. It was manufactured in America and brought in just to stop him (Tinubu). I said the Obidients, I didn’t say Obi".

However in a post on his Facebook page, Adeyanju wrote "Sowore and i started #EndSARS in 2020 and we are not obidients. Baba Akande is lying".Baba Akande lied for saying obidients started #EndSARS. We will not allow him re-write history before our very eyes. We started #EndSARS and we are not obidients".

Commenting on Adeyanju's post, Peter Izuagie Eshemokhai wrote "Deji and the likes of Sowore are opportunists, they really don't have the interest of the country at heart.. They are cashing out seriously with half truth and half lies".

Adeola Ikumapayi wrote "Abi you dey mend? Endsars started where? Were you in Lagos not to talk of starting it? What should Sega now say? The truth is, Endsars was funded by Obi supporters Baba Akande was talking about, but he may not get who started it right. However, it wasn't started by you nor Sowore".

Emmanuel Adebayo wrote "Segelinks started it and not You and Sowore, Omoyele Soowore was booed in Lekki Toll Gate i still remember so stop all this lies abeg".

Yusuf Sarafadeen wrote" You didn't start it. You only joined them. Even there is a video where those guys were chasing Sowore away from joining them".

Also reacting to Adeyanju's claim, Kayode Oguntuase wrote "Deji, your post is so disrespectful. A true Yoruba man cannot describe Baba Akande, who is old enough to be your father, as a liar.

That is not the standard of Omoluabi.

Yorubas are not like others. We don't disrespect people, especially elderly ones.

It looked like Deji was not saying the truth but surprisingly he has evidence to back his claims and that also the EndSars protest actually started in 2017 and culminated in the one everybody knows in 2020.

In law and science, verifiable data and evidence trump mere oral claims. So Deji is actually correct based on evidence produced.

It is almost always hard to find Nigerians arguing who was the first to start any innovative idea. Most of the things people aways brag about is destruction, protect, activism and even crime, when it is time for ground breaking positive innovative ideas, their hand non de.

As a matter of fact Gani Faweyinhimi lose his SAN position numerous times because he doesn't want to play along with the government of the day.....Gani Faweyinhim lose a lot. ...and this was during the military government . . I doubt of Sowers can attempt this kind of conduct during the miliatry government. .. ......the rest are some protest. ...most especially , the # ENDSARs protest and its conveners. .. from the protest , you will know that people highly and rich people really sponsored that protest. ...though they didn't achieve their aim but they really come for the government of the day

I have a post that the bot tried to hide some of my video links. In that post, I debunked the lie that EndSars was only in the South. All it takes for propaganda to become the fake truth is to start a lie. On the thread, I put EndSars report in northern states in Nigeria. EndSars has no starter pack and there is documentary evidence to this online. Even at the panel, this was one issue they had with it that it had no sponsors or leader. We should not forget that EndSars was about police brutality on young people and they responded.

Is this not enough evidence that Deji Adeyanju started endsars with others. These twitts are from 2017. Where were the obidients then? Obi himself at that time was still following Atiku around.

Devi Adeyanju wants to lie. He believed that all those who witnessed the #EndSArs had died. The EndSARs did not concern Sowore or Adeyanju at all. They had come to join the protest at Lekki toll, but were repeatedly booed away because their presence was irrelevant to the protest.

Now he is taken to social media, claiming credit for something he had nothing to do with.....

Nigerian youth, open your eyes...all of the true activists I know have passed away...those who claim to be activists in this Indomie Generation are here for their own political and personal gain....they are doing this to gain political positions....
