Will you employ your spouse to run a business he/she has no competence to handle?

If the husband has the knowledge of the music business, can fund the projects, produce or executive produce musical works and album projects, manage an A&R team, marketing and distribution, sort and sign partnership with distros, promotions etc, then he can manage her.

Artiste management is a full time job for someone who is skilled, trained and invested in the art and business of music and entertainment. It is not a job you employ your relatives to handle due to sentiments, even indie artists who are succeeding outsource to 3rd parties to handle their business, and independent artistes still struggle to get gigs.

Why do do think performing acts (actors, artistes, comedians even sportsmen etc) careers plunge when they leave their management? It is because you need structurea to succeed as a talent.
