1. There are online video tutorials that teach concepts in a better way.
2. Of as a lecturer or teacher you don't teach well, online video tutorials will render you useless.
3. Yes the internet and AI will render some Nigerian lecturers useless. Especially those lecturers that don't come to class and just sell hand outs. It's a question of time

It's very okay to use AI. I think what schools need to do more is improve on making teaching more hands on. They should improve on giving out practical assignments with physical presentations done. That will go along way in improving our academics. Plagiarism should be done too, that's if the teacher knows what plagiarism is

I think the way to manoeuvre this is to make assignments very much harder. Making it more practical and encouraging physical presentations. Instead of writting papers. Make them physically explain what they did.

. It's my personal experience, too. The problem is people do not know how to use AI. I can't be caught using AI, honestly, bro. It's people who just copy what AI gives them and do not make personal efforts to adjust, critique, verify, humanise, re-write and confirm using CORRECT references that get caught. We can both share ideas on this if you want. Dm me. Yes, those oyinbos caught many guys that i know because they are lazy and dull, or probably tgey contracted out their CW/assignment. Such lazy guys don't do well in REAL EXAMS. Have a lovely morning. Some unis now teach how to use AI acceptably.

Some schools in the UK have already developed something they called "AI research." Lecturers will give you an assessment and instruct you to use "AI responsibly." You will be graded based on your ability to correctly and responsibly use AI, Internet, and other resources available to you.

Just few years ago, you people also resisted the idea of "Internet Research." Today, it's become a mainstay globally.

You have to be really backward to blame an innovation simply because it did not fit into your ideals. People will always cheat. You only need to stay ahead.

There was a time Nigerian teachers preferred and forced students to submit handwritten assignments rather than typed documents since they believed laptops make people lazy. AI, like calculators, the Internet, and computers, is designed to make life easier. Don't fight it.

It's funny you referenced schools in the UK because if you submit a AI generated report or project i can guarantee that you will not pass that course

The same AI will even take over 70% of Jobs in the nearest future. It has proven to be more efficient than human in different profession. The question is how prepared are we for the 4th Industrial revolution. Even the lecturers may not be needed because AI will take over the Classroom.

calm down using ai to solve assignment is not cheating the problem is the students not being able to defend their assignments when asked questions.

Despite the huge numbers of professors in Economics or policy in Nigerian universities, yet no economic theory has been deduced to solve our problems.

This is just my thought. The world is today driven by technology and we cannot be left behind because of baseless criticism as raised as in the case of AI. AI should be applauded for revolutionalising our educational and social sectors. In no distant time, I am optimistic that more innovations that encourage easy life will be launched. Today's world is digital and in a fast lane. The Asian technologies are confirming this.
