I think we need to disabuse our mind over these tribal/ethnic sentiments and baitings.. Out of 300+ tribes in Nigeria, the North (comprosing North West, North East and Middle Belt) have about 180 ethnic groups or more. South (comprising South West, South South and South East) has about 120 ethnic groups or more.. the Igbos are just 1 out of the 120 + ethnic groups in the South, so why will anyone expect PBAT to be appointing only Igbos into every position?. The Northerners all have similar pattern of naming children, that's why you will keep seeing similar names and think it's only 1 tribe PBAT is giving appointments which is not true.. even some Yoruba sounding names are from Kogi and Kwara States lumped into Middle Belt. If you want to see people that are marginalized, go to Taraba where you'll find the jukun ethnic group or Gombe, Adamawa etc.. Igbos should go and take several seats and allow us hear word. |

EXOUSIAng:Going by your warped analysis, the north should have the greatest representation than any other region. Now tell me, why is the SW having the lion's share in federal appointments? Is the SW greater than the north in population and landmass? Systemic discrimination and marginalization exist in our country. No nation can prosper under such a situation. The present state of things in the polity attests to that. Water will always find its level in due course |

EXOUSIAng:The north contributes zero to the nations revenue. They get grants from FG to farm. Then they sell the farm produce. The grants comes from Niger Delta oil. Niger Delta feeds the north |

Allee90:You no do state and capital for Nursery school? How many northern states you dey see? Let's say you are an employer, and you want to recruit one person from each state, the North with 19 states will end up having 19 employees in your company while SE with just 5 states will have just 5 employees in your company. Now tell me, how can 5 people win 19 people? SE should start by making peace with their fellow brethren down south fes. Na the fes step be that. All this crying here and there won't be of any help. You don't have the number, so make peace with others so that they can support you. Even if you say you want Biafra as it is like this, U are not even in good term with other southerners who could at least lend their support to you. Make friends, build alliance with others. |

The worst aspect of Igbo marginalization is taking the sixth state of the southeast region to make a 7th state in the NW region. Land mass is never used as criterion to proliferate too many states in an area with large land mass in a country formed by diverse regions. |

Olabest911:I pity Nigerians that think the issue is tribal. It is a class war. When it comes to marginalisation; the Igbo elites are marginalised and are being secluded from the table where the national treasure is being stolen. The Hausa and Fulani and Yoruba politicians have direct access to the loath, whereas the Igbo politicians are being sidelined and have the least stolen money to absorbed the cost of living and to drive around with state security services. Please note, not the Igbo people but the Igbo elites. But when it comes to the ordinary Nigerians everyone is being marginalised equally. Income is the same across the country, cost of living and insecurity is affecting everyone equally. Health care is terrible across board and public education is below standard across the country |

Let have full fiscal federalism where there's 100% resource control and each state contributes an agreed percentage say like 15% to run the federal government. Thats what other federation do and thats the fair thing to do. EXOUSIAng: |

Anytime Igbos complain of marginalization, you Nigerians always give excuses. Now, you'll say its because of Ipob. Ipob came few years ago but you've been marginalizing Igbos since 1966 EmeeNaka: |

DEI does not exist in Nigeria It’s strictly merit based. No one is marginalizing anyone. |

EXOUSIAng:See as Nigeria de sweet this one. Igbophobia. Walk out into other functioning countries and see what a country looks like. You lack sense to understand that by undermining one of the three major ethnic groups in Nigeria, the country can never progress. You excitingly quote 19 states in the north. Who created the states? What criterion was used to make one region of a country become 19 federating units and Abuja, while the 2 other regions are left with 17 federating units. You foolishly believe it's fair to use land mass or population figures as yardstick to multiple one northern region but reduce the political representation for the other two regions; assuming you know that Nigeria was formed by three regions in 1960. |

Igbos have the highest number of states per capita. The SW and the NW have the lowest and federal projects are cited according to states. The only thing Igbo is missing is Presidency and if Nigeria does not break up they will get it but hopefully the country will break up for everybody to go and develop their land in peace |

[God bless you real good. quote author=aspabay post=133974880]Employee one person from each region North will have 19 SW will have 6 SS will have 7 SE will have 5 Yet SE will claim marginalisation. During GEJ era SS and SE were having all the appointments, where was this olodo native doctor that time. The SW kept quite and strategised on how to get back to the Center. Victim mentality criers.[/quote] |

I feel we Igbos should just adopt the minority mentality like the smaller tribes because that will keep us away from all these online battles. Then we can sit back and enjoy the battle between the North and the West. |
