my friend, thy troubles do bring to mind the days of my own misfortunes. Verily, I was but a poor lad in the service of my uncle Reuben, who, in his old age, did serve as the keeper of time in a great school in the city of Lagos. His task was a simple one—to ring the great bell that summoned the students to rise at dawn and to retire at night.

Alas, fate mocked me, for it did leap not one hour, but three! And so did the bell ring not until the seventh hour. The students in their delight, rejoiced, for they had won two hours more of slumber.

But my uncle? His wrath was terrible to behold. By the eighth hour, he was before the principal, and when he returned, his countenance was as that of an angry beast. He sought not to hear my plea, but with the swiftness of a soldier long past his prime, did he lay hands upon me, casting me to the ground. His boots, though worn, did find their mark upon my back and my head, and ere I could utter a word, he flung my bag at me and shut his door against me.

With naught but shame and despair, I called upon my sister, who in her mercy sent me five thousand naira . With this did I board the night bus to Onitsha. Yet my coin was lacking, and so did I stand for twelve hours in that wretched carriage. And lo, the man beside me was crueller than my uncle! The moment sleep did steal upon me and I leaned against him, he struck me with such force upon my belly that I dared not slumber again till journey’s end.

Thus was I returned to the trade I had once sworn never to touch again—the trade of scrap. Yet fortune doth not abandon the man who toils with steadfast heart.

Take heart, my friend, for the gods do not forsake those who endure. In time, shall He who watches over thee lift thee from the burden of debt and make thee a lender. And the purse that is now as empty as the nest of a bird long gone shall one day be filled with gold.

How can an app power ON your phone when the phone is already OFF.

But if it is to turn the screen ON, some phones have option of DOUBLE TAPPING to turn ON the screen. Check SETTINGS.

you would still need a hardware button to Power On any phone.

My advice: get a good repairer to fix the PowerOn button for you.
