Did anybody notice that in Nigeria, a wife of a president (first lady) is more powerful, respected and protected than the vice president. I came across a video of our current first lady today, I noticed that the number of luxury cars in her convoy and the security protecting her are more than that of vice president. And this is how it was even during the previous regimes.

This made me to be wondering the kind of democracy we are practicing, somebody without any executive power is more influencial than the second citizen of a country. This problem also exist at state level. A governors wife is more powerful than the deputy governor.

My question now is, is this how it is in other developed countries.? Let educate ourselves on this matter not minding the grammatical nd typical errors. Thanks

For all of u that are turning it to political or regional war, I have stated that this has been happening right from previous regimes PDP/APC/North, south, nd West combined). What is wrong with we nairalanders that we can not discuss something as simple as this about our country. How are we expect to make any progress as a nation with this kind of mindset?

All these jobless and foolish thinkers in Nigeria. Why didn't you complain about this when GEJ was president. Or was Patience Jonathan not more powerful than Sambo. Who even knew if GEJ had a vice president. You did not observe it and complain then but it is now you noticed it.

Just to put a clue in your head, Remi is a senator and has been using convoys like this long before becoming a first lady. Secondly if you have sense you will know that most of these convoys you see are not just for the first lady because anytime she moves there are other senior people that usually join her convoy based on the nature of the assignment she is going for.
Even normal celebrities do this like Davido has entourage that move with him when going to certain places so you could see long convoys which doesn't translate to him being the owner of all the cars in the convoy.

The act of our politicians in general in terms of how they move in convoys should be condemned in general and not just pointing fingers to first lady. Even in your state have you seen your own governs wife move without convoy?

Honestly speaking i was very disappointed with their responses. Some of them were even calling me Peter obi supporter.

The wife visited a state and you should have know the convoy would consist of officials in that state hence the number of cars and security.

Secondly you even went further with your baise by saying she more respected then the VP.

I havent seen where the president wife has represented Nigeria in UN meetings ,AU etc if the president can't attend or can you show me anywhere she has represented Nigeria in any local or international offical duties in absent of her husband

No president wife in our democracy era is more important than the VP....she can't sign or rep her husband in any offical function of Nigeria affairs.
