Most bench positions in the US are open and very hard to fill as most attorneys do not want that job . Starting salary for an attorney in US starts from upper $200k in a big law firm but it will take you years to make that from the bench so that’s why it’s not attractive to most US attorneys

You don't know what you're saying. Judges makes good money and they elected during elections. It's not something you just apply for or someone is hand pick for.
