No, not at all. If the person had a cut (could be as tiny as a scratched body surface, shaving wound, any cut), sometimes without a cut even, and an extremely thin microbial makes its way into the body, beneath the flesh or spread through the bloodstream, that'd result to infections. The person's body would be hosting a very dangerous bacteria or virus or fungi and they could get really sick.

Sometimes a worm could even lay its eggs into a non-wounded skin.

A 30% bet may be to bathe with antiseptic like Septol, Savlon. But the 100% bet is to not enter such water to begin with. Mycobacterium for example lurks in aquariums, and could lead to skin ulcer or leprosy or tuberculosis, depending on the type.

Better to wear rubber boots, limit to legs in water, and cast nets or several hooks than go hunting fishes in their muds. Many are lucky, but everyday may not be a lucky day.

The move around in the water, they use different methods to stir the water. The fish tries to move from one location to the other. The Boys use basket or cutlass to catch any fish they sight

You made me remember the old time in the village. We were used to going to the village during holidays and every Friday and returned to the town for school every Sunday evening. Very large river (actually dredged) and plenty of fish

Na Kaduna
You can fish from anywhere though. Provided they have water body. Every location have different methods of fishing. Just stick to the known method in that location
