Before Trump gave the nod for USAID to be shut down, it shows that the cancer growth in that organization is beyond chemotherapy.
This is a clarion call for African countries leaders to revive TRUE NATIONALISM. They should steer the path of harnessing and adding value to the natural resources that is abound in our continent.
True nationalism will be a dream if this ugly corruption monster is not cut off.
We should develop our own method of solving our problems.
We have the brains , so research and development shouldn't be a problem.But the cancer of corruption should be cut off first before the glory of our brains/gifted professionals will shine forth. During the Nigerian civil war , the Biafran soldiers took R & D as a high priority , and the result was amazing.
This is the era to develop our country. Our politicians and wealthy folks should stop investing in USA and other western clime( stashing loots and buying exotic houses etc). We should strengthen the institutions in our country and invest in our country.
Another factor militating against true nationalism in Nigeria and Africa is tribalism. This is a recurrent decimal even here on Nairaland.

US owes several trillion deficit in USD, how about they solve internal before they go external. If US become like Togo, many of us no go wan go there na, we go day laugh them day say them no follow, I am a potential African American, i have my company registered there, and several other things i want to have in future, and I do not think it is what i want if you ask me.

Imagine creating vaccines , china now goes out to pirate these vaccines. And sell at ridiculous prices, then US will say "we are a bigger brother to china , let china sell..." And they loose money from the vaccines and china still bills to "assemble and manufacture for the US". Are you aware US is still going to pay China for this? Think about it! Then US decides to go for financial aid to finance Africa ,They calculate how much in USD they would roll out, only for those in higher authority to "corner side" some funds , float islands , buy yachts , and this is public funds we talking about here. Each year, US would loose billions in USD to Africa because "Africa is poor" and yet , the same Africa is home to raw materials that even colonial masters mine till present day, that useless china and France is a case study, would you keep wasting money on and on like that? Forget west and East Africa, South and North Africa , are we aware Southern Africa has standard of most European nations? Nigeria is in OPEC? Several north African nations are in OPEC and have strong business ties with the US? This is the same Africa they say is poor! This is where Trump is looking at , the business side. If they can make this much money, why are they seen as poor? Let the leaders provide for Africa! Trump is not wrong!

What is wrong with many of you? Trump basically is doing what many "leaders" In Africa or the world cannot do. He does not have to be perfect , but for putting his people first in everything , the man deserves accolades. It's not easy to be president of the world, president of a difficult country such as US, and he does this without salary, and still runs 521 businesses in the whole of United States. If e easy, make Una try am. Democrats finished the US, they use the guise of lies to hold down many of you and many of you believe them. It's a sorry situation, many of Una still need grow up sha.

I have worked with a couple of American NGOs in the past and I remember how everyone wanted to work with USIAD,so I was feeling bad for the staff of USAID on this closure but mehnn what I saw on Twitter about the MASSIVE CORRUPTION and serious MONEY LAUNDERING going on there my mouth open…hmm kai it’s real bad so I can understand why Elon shut it down..
