Humans divided the Bible into old and new testament for better understanding. It's a continous book. When Jesus quote the laws in the synagogue, the Pharisees were amazed at his knowledge and wisdom cos he was even born there.

So, God relate with people of the old based of laws that existed at the time and choose to do differently to those around now through Jesus
