I really do t understand why some of you are having issue with Trump trying to fix things in his country.

Trump’s first volley of the trade war was an utter disaster and will have dire lasting consequences for the USA.

One day after announcing his moronic tariffs, both Canada and Mexico announced 25% tariffs of their own on all American goods. But they didn’t stop there. Canadians are pulling American products off their shelves; Canadian companies are cancelling orders for American products; they’re seeking alternative suppliers from not the USA. They’ve also, in only 2 days, started a major “buy Canadian” program. Canadians are in total unison.

Of course Democrats criticized Trump’s ignorant trade war. But MAGAts also threw a major fit when they realized prices of everything would go up a lot, especially food we import from Mexico and gas from Canada. After all the times Trump told them China would pay the tariffs, they finally figured out he was lying. Trump suddenly got a strong push back from his own base.

Between the retaliation from Canada and Mexico (which I’ll never understand why genius Trump didn’t see coming) and the massive uproar from Americans, Trump folded like a house of cards. Desperate to not look like a weak dipshit, he claimed he won some concessions, but he didn’t. There may still be a raft of lawsuits for Trump violating the trade agreement he signed himself in 2020. Anybody calling this moronic fiasco a win for the US is full of crap.

Good luck, Jack Daniels and Harley Davidson, trying to sell your goods in Canada or Mexico ever again. People will not forget this.

And check this out, China just announced retaliatory tariffs on coal, natural gas, oil, farm equipment, and pickup trucks, and export restrictions on rare earth elements. This will punish Ford, GM, Deere, Chevron and Exxon as exporters to China, and of course all Americans with higher prices at home. Nobody wins a trade war.

Even the $100m contract of Musk's Starlink with Ontario was recinded by Doug Ford the Premier.

These people don't understand the way trade works. Canada and Mexico would look for alternatives for their products now as US can never be trusted ever agai .

Don’t forget that Canada and Mexico threatened tariffs specifically targeted to red states. Trump likely got some very negative feedback from red state members of Congress. Canada and Mexico stood up to a bully and the bully backed down That’s the real narrative.

Trump's aims for a start is to reduce the cost of governance in USA like cutting ties with the likes of W.H.O . Just like BRICS, most of the members states would only be remitting money without having much say in the organisation nor get sensible benefits for belonging. Nigeria as a case study

Another steps he has taken is bringing those who he felt their deals should be renegotiated to the table. We can see some conformity from Mexico by providing 10,000 troops for the border patrol. There must have been some talk on the round table before those decisions.

Trump don't like war but that doesn't mean he can't take care of those necessary without escalating the issue, Iran Minister killed by USA drones .. American wasn't touched for that, may be their allies. That's wisdom in governance.

Taliban was brought to the table in his first term, USA troops withdrew from Afghanistan, peace peace for everyone.
