Ruke1989:You are right to a very large extent but there is still case of maltreatment and underpay none the less. I know of one presently who is having challenges with his white employers out of intimidation. However the lesson for all Nigerians in diaspora is that when you in a new country and you still trying to settle in, do go and be show off immediately no matter how gifted you are. Go, observe, learn and make the little input gradually and you will be amazed how far you get till your foot is deeply rooted and stabilized. Then you can go all out |

Ruke1989:There is no such thing as unskilled labour in the UK. The protect their market and make it a kind of cartel-run industry. One of the motivation for brevit was to send lower-charging blue collar workers from Eastern Europe back to their country so they can continue squeezing people recklessness. Just to change a faulty floater in the water tank, the floater likely cost less than £5, the guy spends less than 5mins changing it, yet he charged me £130, discounting it to £120 when I challenged him on the steep rate and you'll struggle to find any licenses workman that will do cheaper at armslenght. Meanwhile minimum wage in the country is about £12 an hour. So the guy charging £120 for a 5mins job of which I was definitely not the reason for his coming out and he only had time in the evening. |

patrickcollins:Hunger is what drives your choices. I was talking about those who are not hungry, greedy, but only have value before their eyes. |

RealityKings1:It is always about the education. It was never meant to be about the money. But the rampart poverty in Nigeria makes everything about money. It even makes a person studying in school believe that the end result of their study is to have more money. |

Though I applaud her survival spirit and determination to succeed, £15k in the U’K is waaayyyyyy below U.K poverty line. These media idiots are trying to promote the idea of well educated Nigerians japa-ing to UK to go and work menial jobs that the UK citizens deemed as being beneath them. They want you to take pride in serving those you are better than yet look down on you. |

justwise:it is not possible. Such jobs are on minimum wage which is around £13 per hour. £(13x11hrs x 30days x 3 months) =£12,870. This is gross pay 0 excluding taxes, hmr deductions, NI, transport, feeding, rents. She is just fucking lousy. |

steeltrust:It is all lies I am telling you. I have lived there for more than 20 years and it is impossible to make £15,000 from cleaning , cutting grass and carer. UK is not as easy as being painted. Things take time in the UK and you may or may not make it in the end. Don't be deceived. |
