Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu hosted Ivorian football legend Didier Drogba at Lagos House in Marina on Monday. The visit was part of a special event celebrating Drogba’s remarkable contributions to football and his extensive philanthropic endeavors.

Drogba, a former Chelsea star and one of Africa’s greatest footballers, was warmly received by Governor Sanwo-Olu. Jubril Gawat, the governor’s Senior Special Assistant on New Media, shared a video of the meeting on social media, showcasing the cordial interaction between the two dignitaries.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Gawat confirmed that Drogba’s team, along with representatives from the E1 Racing Team, met with Governor Sanwo-Olu. “Between Governor #jidesanwoolu and African Football Legend, #ChelseaFC Legend, Didier Drogba #didierdrogba this morning at the Lagos House, Marina, as Team Drogba and the Representatives of E1 Racing Team pay a courtesy visit to Mr. Governor,” Gawat wrote.

Omo, Drogba always enjoyed scoring against Arsenal for real back in the day. Those weak defenders Wenger use to have got bullied by DIdier no be small.. as an Arsenal fan, we use to respect and dread that guy anytime Arsenal are gonna play Chelsea
