gabbasin:That is what many people don't understand. I don't even see the adjustment in rice by Dangote as a price war with anybody. Since crude prices have dropped by 4 dollars, it is only natural for the price of PMS to drop as well. Once crude prices and the exchange rate goes up, prices will be adjusted to suit the prevailing forces as well |

My take is that I hope Dangote is not trying to force most marketers out of business and later increases the price as he likes. This was how he frustrated other cement manufacturer and marketers out of the cement business and now he's controlling the price of cement as he likes. |

“NNPCL was the one dictating price for all the majors at that time because of public outcry and they used to buy, till Dangote came in. They also wanted to do the same thing with Dangote to fix the price but the arrangement didn’t work because Dangote wanted to sell to everyone. Its price was better and independent marketers could buy directly.not surprised as to to the identity of the actual monopolistic lot. They labelled Dangote but price war has a way of leveling the playing field. |

Dangote is playing the saint card and people will be happy cos it looks like he reps their interests, which isn't a lie. These greedy marketers had all decade long to play this Dangote role but they're so myopic and greedy that all they reason about is fat pockets. Nobody loves a monopolist. But if one of them had done this years ago, dangote will have stiffer competition today. But he just arrived the scene and is King already. Do i really blame him? A little The clowns called marketers don't think beyond their noses really. |
