This is only a careless statement to massage the ego of your ilks. It's true there were Jews living in Mecca/Medina before the arrival of the holy prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.). In fact, most of these Jews actually arrived in Mecca/Medina in anticipation of the arrival of the holy prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) as they were aware of the prophecies about this prophet from their scriptures including the location where he would arrived at, Mecca/Medina.

There was a minor detail they were ignoring though: they thought he would be of their own stock. A Jew.
