Biodun556:This again confirms that the South-East has always been sparsely populated and minority so it is till date. Ogbomosho used to be the sum total population of Onitsha and Enugu while Ibadan is twice the population of Enugu, Onitsha and Port Harcourt Numbers don't lie. This is why the top 3 most populated tribes in Nigeria remains Hausa, Yoruba and Fulani. The manipulations of census that inflated the population of the South East has gone on for too long. The Google satellite map of South East Nigeria showed sparsely populated region yet that's the geopolitical zone with the least land mass. As at this time, the South-East indigenes were even hardly known in Lagos and most parts of Yorubaland. This census data is one of the reasons why it is good to keep records of developmental records. May God bless Nigeria for ever! |

Biodun556:This is rubbish Anyone who believes the figures here needs a brain transplant You claim that north has 19m and the west 7m but Ibadan and Lagos alone have more population than all the major northern states mentioned. This can only be believed by the unintelligent mind |
| Re: Ibadan, The Capital Of Western Region Was More Populated Than Lagos by Ojuntana: 11:39pm On Feb 04, 2025 |
FreeStuffsNG:You're simply unintelligent The same piece says north has 19m, east 8m and west 7m It then gives a breakdown which shows that lagos and Ibadan alone have more population than all the major northern centres How does this make sense to any sane mind? |

Where did the north get the population they are brandishing today? E be like the north rigged their population against the south. |

Ojuntana:Yoruba's have traditionally lived in cities for thousands of years while others lived in villages. When the British came, eighty.percent of Nigerian cities were on Yoruba land |

lawani:What kind of lie is this Which city existed in that is called Nigeria now before the advent of colonialism? Or you don't know what a city is? |

Ojuntana:A city is to do with population. There have been cities on Earth for thousands of years. A city must also have a sophisticated government and etc. |

Biodun556:Biometric data should be able to expose their fake population. |

lawani:Exactly my point None of those places could ever pass as cities Best could be villages or settlements None of those places could boast of a population of 200k people |
| Re: Ibadan, The Capital Of Western Region Was More Populated Than Lagos by lawani(m): 12:08pm On Feb 05, 2025 |
Ojuntana:50k is enough to qualify as a city |

Nigerian history will be rewritten again, so many lies and propaganda since the abolishment of history in our schools. This was for a reason to make us forget our identities. Yoruba is bigger than Africa. There is a documentary on this on YouTube. |
| Re: Ibadan, The Capital Of Western Region Was More Populated Than Lagos by Ojuntana: 12:57pm On Feb 05, 2025 |
lawani:Wrong!! You can only claim 50k as a city where you have high population density in the region of 1500 per square metre Most of those places are large so 50k will be relatively sparse A city usually starts from a population of 500k upwards |
| Re: Ibadan, The Capital Of Western Region Was More Populated Than Lagos by lawani(m): 1:20pm On Feb 05, 2025 |
Ojuntana:Nowadays it may not be suitable but in the olden days it was okay. There was hardly any city in the world containing 500k people 250 years ago. Then even nowadays, a settlement of 50k people can not be ruled by everybody together. They must have a sophisticated central government. 50k is not a small population. |
| Re: Ibadan, The Capital Of Western Region Was More Populated Than Lagos by Ojuntana: 1:57pm On Feb 05, 2025 |
lawani:You say wetin? Rome was reputed to have a population of about 450k Egypt had over a million people Athens had 300k people Beijing had over 1.6m population in ancient times Even Oyo had over 60k population |
| Re: Ibadan, The Capital Of Western Region Was More Populated Than Lagos by lawani(m): 2:21pm On Feb 05, 2025 |
Ojuntana:I said there was hardly. I did not say there was none. Oyo had over 200k and was the largest in Africa during its time. |
