President John Dramani Mahama has appointed member of parliament for Ayawaso west Wuogon John Dumelo as Deputy Minister of food and agriculture

The announcement was made on February 5, 2025 and signed by acting spokesperson to the president Felix kwakye

John Dumelo is an actor turned politician and also a farmer by profession

This is his first time in parliament as an MP on the ticket of national democratic congress (NDC)

John Dumelo holds three master's degrees

He obtained his second masters from the Ghana institute of management and public administration in 2022

In 2024 the member of parliament earned his third masters in law (natural resources) from the university of Ghana law

He earned his degree in civil engineering from kwame Nkrumah university of science and technology

John Dumelo is known for his diverse roles in movies such as baby thief, heart of men, 4 play, the game, northern affairs and many others

What system of government does Ghana run that MPs could become minister? Looks like South Africa's system. Unlike Nigeria's America borrowed system is super wasteful.
