MisterGrace:IBM has indeed been an OG in the Nigerian tech space since the 1970s. That's one of the major brands we knew back then alongside Rank Xerox. What's going on here is that with increased penetration from savvy competitors such as Huawei and Dell, they have to cut down on overhead costs to stay more globally competitive. |

MisterGrace:IBM is bowing out of Nigeria and Ghana, handing over operations to MIBB. Why? Competition from brands like Dell and Huawei has been heating up, especially in banking. Plus, IBM’s global struggles aren’t helping. While they still saw some growth in software sales, their consulting and infrastructure sales dropped. Now, MIBB will take over IBM’s services, but how well they handle things remains to be seen. One thing is clear—Africa’s tech landscape is shifting, and businesses relying on IBM will have to adjust. |
