Chilwell has made just one appearance for Chelsea in all competitions this season, as a substitute in their Carabao Cup win over Barrow in September. He joined Chelsea from Leicester in August 2020 for £50m and won the Champions League in 2021. Before last summer’s European Championship, Chilwell was in the England squad but he also had injuries last term and was not part of Gareth Southgate’s final selection for the tournament, before finding himself frozen out at Chelsea.
