steeltrust:Well said! The two main militating factors against our development is CORRUPTION and TRIBALISM. There are other subsets within the corruption set. With all the natural and human resources Nigeria is blessed with, we should have been a developed country. AI and Data Science/ allied is now the talk of the world. It takes 247 power supply to make tremendous strides in that space. How can Nigeria have 247 power supply when corruption is smelling stinkly here. Take for example, the Discos are meant to maintain the distribution line and substations they are operating. But what we see is consumers maintaining transformers themselves. Corruption is dancing galala in almost all the sectors. Just this week, we were shocked of the news of Warri prison officials allowing prisoners to go and rob.The prisoners even went as far to Benin City to rob. Okpemu! I may sound pessimistic, but I deeply want a better Nigeria. But it seems all odds is against the country. As the saying goes, " the change begin with you". We need visionary/selfless/courageous leaders do drive this paradigm shift in our mentality. God bless Nigeria! |

steeltrust:It's not any different from Delta and neighbouring Edo state where cultists reign. As I write, Fulani herdsmen have ransacked communities in Delta and Edo, arrested their community leaders yet the cultists or politicians cannot do anything about it. Then you have the audacity to criticise African Americans? Why do you think we're any different or better? Let leave americaBarbados and the Bahamas have higher standards of living than any oil producing state in Nigeria. Wanton sex and booze are synonymous with island nations and regions. That's not a black man's problem. Na so e dey everywhere. I once watched a video of Bonny Island on Instagram and was thoroughly disappointed with the road infrastructure. I bet Barbados wouldn't have such. My point is, we're not any better than our Caribbean and African American folks. In fact, I dare say we're worse because we've greater resources and control of everything. So no excuse. For 5 gun violence 3 involve black AmericanCultists dey waylay people for Warri and Benin City. When will you focus on those areas instead of the US? Is anywhere in Nigeria more developed than Atlanta or Austin, Texas? Why Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Delta and Bayesla no dey like the UAE and Qatar? Even the black who are wealthy to do something are not doing anythingTell this to dem Tompolo and Asari Dokubo. |

The census exists for a reason. Nothing to do with racism or sexism. Nigeria would do good to have better record keeping. We're a multiethnic country and statistically it helps us know what areas need what assistance. ednut1: |
