[quote author=femie21 post=133997159]Good morning , please I just got refused and I need more clarification on this . Does that mean the agent didn't pay for my visa fee or biometrics or my money was reversed back into his account? Please how do I determine the amount I owe due to debt to the crown so I can pay ? |

Yes it's also based on passport validity. I believe it's discretionary, as the visa officer wishes. The application I submitted was for my MotherInlaw. She has no previous travel history outside Nigeria and no business/paid employment. divine128: |

Sholzyy:The truth/Perhaps the visa officer’s view- the planned vacation would cost at least 5-6 months of your salary. So you’d work for half a year just to spend it on vacation, that’s assuming in those months you won’t pay rent, spend on gas, utilities, groceries, etc. To the officer, that’s not justifiable. Also there are more established Nigerians with more money in their bank accounts than yours that got to Canada and falsely claimed asylum at port of entry. So visa officers are very biased recently & you honestly can’t blame them. Especially with the current/impending tariff punishment/war btw US and Canada because of Canada’s supposed unsafe borders among other considerations. Another truth, if you apply again soon. It shows your desperation and may prove the officer’s assumptions true that you’d stay beyond your authorized limit. So perhaps apply to US, Europe and/or UK first. Travel to those countries and don’t abuse the visa. Then you’d have higher chances if your intention is to genuinely visit/vacation in Canada🇨🇦. MyOneCent |

doctimi:That’s reasonable as Mother-in-Law won’t claim asylum or abuse her visa terms so the officer has no reservations in giving her 10 years multiple entry visa. If she overstays, CBSA can easily track down the PR/Citizen daughter/Son/In-Law and they wouldn’t want to taint their record i’m sure. Parents of PRs/Citizens are mostly zero threats😀 |

It is well. I am in a similar situation. Applied for my dad and sister, with a letter of explanation stating that we are sponsoring her trip so that she can accompany her dad for support as it is a long trip and for someone who has not travelled before and not that educated, navigating immigration, connecting flights etc will likely be a challenge. They will only be here for about a month. She has absolutely no desire to stay back, her husband is in Nigeria, she has a job and is also schooling to further her education at home. All of these were included in the application. They approved my dad's and rejected hers on the basis of employment stability and purpose of visit. She is a nursing officer, letter of employment was provided. It is just unfortunate how people do not consider the impact of their actions on others, all of these denials are from the whole asylum issue, people misusing the visa. I intend to re-apply for her and add another purpose of visit with an explanation, we actually need her to help stay with the kids because my wife and I are going for Hajj, my dad coming with her was an opportunity for him to come over too, to kill 2 birds with one stone. I omitted this from the initial application because we had not secured our Hajj slots and I wanted to avoid issues in case they asked for additional documents like evidence. I reckon it is worth another try, will attach proof of our planned trip. Hajj has a fixed time so we need to try again ASAP and hope that she gets it this time. I am not sure how to address the employment bit though, not sure what else they need. Any thoughts? MayorOfEdmonton: |

jpepper:Don't mention any childcare duties as a reason for a visitor visa because that is considered a job, and visitors are not allowed to work. She can come to visit, but not for childcare duties as the basis for applying for a visitor visa. |

I never thought of that, thanks for bringing that to my attention. She is not getting paid at all, she would do it in a heartbeat if she were living here but i understand how it may be seen as an employment. We cannot leave our kids in any daycare for two weeks, i don’t even think there is any centre like that. Not sure how to proceed at this point really because our initial reason of visit and travel companion dis not fly. We want them to stay in a familiar environment with someone they know, my kindergartener will still be going to school for example. May I inbox you? #Random rant: I know why they are doing this but still, it is so annoying that they have programs that bring in immigrants from all over the world and make them citizens but then make it nearly impossible for your family to visit except maybe your parents. Sometimes going home is not an option due to work and other commitments, might be easier to just have them visit. Anyway, na da their country so…. |

jpepper:To be honest with ourselves, while we blame the Canadian system, we should also acknowledge that our people are abusing visiting visas to claim asylum. Statistics show that Nigerians are among the top 3 countries for asylum claims in Canada , with about 13,040 Nigerians claiming asylum within just the first 9 months of 2024, after India and Bangladesh. Even some so-called family members who are issued visas are now claiming asylum mostly using visitor visa , and unfortunately, this is affecting innocent applicants. It’s sad, but this is the reality we are all facing. |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by jpepper: 2:39pm On Feb 05, 2025 |
I absolutely understand this, that is why I said "I know why they are doing this", heck, I would likely do the same too if I were in their shoes. It does not make it less frustrating though, I have a genuine need here, quite unfortunate. funkyy598: |

This is sad and very frustrating. You do everything right but they judge you based on what others have done in the past. The unfortunate thing is that there are people who are still planning to use visiting visa to claim asylum. We will deal with it when we get there. jpepper: |

I entered Canada via Toronto Sunday night, immigration questioning was very simple, they didn't ask me too much questions, maybe I was blessed but doesn't seems hard as I see it online. Secondly: how do you people living here cope? I'm in NB, decided to take a walk this afternoon and I had to return home halfway as I couldn't cope with the cold anymore. |

MayorOfEdmonton:Thank you so much for your support. I will not apply soon since the visit is for my Christmas leave. Like I state on my post, my 6 months salary is less than 3M and I have 29+M in my 2 accounts with I submitted both. I also have travel history which I don’t abuse my stays. The longest I have stayed in a Schengen country is 5 days and UK is 3months and that’s because it was for study. I really want a clarity on the statement “The applicant's current employment situation does not show that they are financially established in their country of residence”… considering that ‘they’ was used, please are they referring to my job or myself? My husband said they are probably referring to my job since I’m the only one that applied and he doubts if the ‘they’ for used for me. Please I need clarification on this and how to address this in my next reapplication. Thanks |

Check the letter carefully u go see the email there. Email them with your UCI and Application number them go respond within 24hrs with how much you owe and them go send u link to pay and u go email them the payment screenshot so them go update your profile and remove the DEBT TO THE CROWN If u used an agent then that means the agent used a stolen cc to pay and it got reversed or he dey monitor your application and as he don see say Dem no grant u visa he just charged his CC back and got his money back. Sholzyy:‘They’ is a gender neutral term commonly used in the western world. Because they do not know your pronouns, they safely use ‘they’ for everybody. In your case, it means ‘she’. I think the previous comment has summarized the possible reason for your rejection. Your salary is low and the VO probably calculated 6 months of your salary for this trip which can cause doubts about your intent. I wish you all the best with future applications. |

Welcome to Canada. May the land favour you. Unfortunately you arrived at the peak of winter. A lot of people only go out when there is a need for it. Going through immigration should not be do or die. sanyaolurilwan: |

Mamabella:Every information you require to send your passport is on the VFS website if you submitted in the USA or not, like the United Kingdom & Nigeria it’s very straightforward. https://visa.vfsglobal.com/usa/en/can/passport-submission |

You have no idea the greater pain some of us suffer. Have been unable to visit my wife who is a student now for 16 months, you are talking about non-spousal relation. On top it, some people will come here and promote illegal Asylum seeking. jpepper: |

Another thing you can do is have a side biz with that your savings that generates at least 1m to you per month. That will improve your financial profile by at least x3. Sometimes they wont care about your huge balance to give you a visa, they will look at what you make regularly that will not make you abscond if given opportunity. Meaning what you earn must be relatively comparable or more than what the lowest person earns over there else they would classify you a risk. Sholzyy: |

I work with a card issuance company. Reason that could lead to a chargeback in payments done via ATM card: Transaction-Related Issues 1. Unauthorized transaction: The cardholder claims they didn't authorize the transaction. 2. Incorrect amount: The transaction amount is incorrect, or the cardholder was charged multiple times. 3. Duplicate transaction: The same transaction is processed multiple times. Technical Issues 1. ATM malfunction: The ATM was faulty, and the transaction didn't complete correctly. 2. Network issues: Technical problems with the payment network or the card issuer's system. 3. Card reader issues: The card reader at the ATM or merchant's terminal malfunctioned. Card-Related Issues 1. Expired or invalid card: The card has expired or is invalid. 2. Card not present: The cardholder's physical card was not present during the transaction. 3. Cardholder's account issues: Insufficient funds, account closed, or other issues with the cardholder's account. Merchant-Related Issues 1. Merchant error: The merchant made an error processing the transaction. 2. Refund not processed: The merchant failed to process a refund. 3. Goods or services not received: The cardholder didn't receive the goods or services they paid for. Fraud-Related Issues 1. Card skimming or cloning: The card information was compromised through skimming or cloning. 2. Phishing or identity theft: The cardholder's identity was stolen, and the transaction was unauthorized. 3. Card stolen or lost: The card was stolen or lost, and the transaction was unauthorized. These are some common reasons that could lead to a chargeback. The specific reason for a chargeback will depend on the circumstances of the transaction. I suspect the fraud related here...just figure it out and make the neeccesary outstanding debt payments else you may not be able to apply and get fairness. It seems I saw your email in my box..maybe I can help you analyze your gcms note to ascertain which payment wasnt done. femie21: |

Greetings all, please how do IRCC conduct Background check for TRV ( visit Visa) when there is no provision/ request for Police certificate?? I was wondering if it should be included irrespective if they asked for it or not? I know they request for it during PR application, does it mean the background checks defers for PR? I will appreciate an answer. |
