andrewbaba44:We own Lamine Yamal. We pay his salary, not Luis de la Fuente. That's the difference |

It's been a while since the big boys all made the semifinals of copa del Rey. Last time was 2013!! Over a decade ago Atletico Madrid, Real Vardrid, Barcelona all gunning for the title. Real Sociedad joins the draw on Wednesday also after their 2 - 0 success over Osasuna. Very exciting 😀 |

Colson:Pau Victor keh?? You dey whine? Wetin Pablo Torre suppose come talk? That guy's quality is too good to be on the bench. I was clamouring for Torre in the match, knowing Flick would probably chose Victor ahead of him but I'm surprised both still didn't play. My guess is Flick is using these "easy" matches to quickly build understanding and familiarity for his core players before we start approaching the crucial part of the season where any loss of dropped points could spell doom for trophy hopes. Main reason I'm seeing him stick with Gerrard Martin (who seems to have improved with time), Fermin Lopez (even tho this guy na headless chicken), De Jong (despite his long history of inconsistencies and Szczesny (in spite of his 'not so costly' blunders). Olmo and Ferran will continue to enjoy more prominence till Flick is more than sure of his starting lineup and best 5 subs to call upon to deliver when needed. Flick probably don't want to give minutes to players he might not actually have the luxury to play much. He's avoiding the risk in developing a player (which might not yield positive results) while also seriously contending for trophies in the crucial part of the season. Thing is if its not ultimately needed players like Torre, Hector Fort and Pau Victor will continue to see less and less minutes as we go into the important part of the season. Less incentive to try risky moves of integrating a new member into the core of the team. Unless someone forces their way in as a force to be reckoned with and unplayable. Earlier in the season, Flick had the luxury to experiment and do all that. Now is time to be serious and win trophies or key matches. |

Hansi Flick’s Barcelona this season: ✅ Scored 7 goals in one match (2 times) ✅ Scored 6 goals in one match (2 times) ✅ Scored 5 goals in one match (10 times) ✅ Scored 4 goals in one match (15 times) WOW 🤯 Phenomenal!!!😲😲 |

And I'll rather play Real Madrid in the semifinals. Atletico looks very good and compact. I'll prefer to avoid them. Real Sociedad get our number somehow 🤨 Real madrid will definitely not want to play against us and they'll be stretched after playing ManCity in the UCL knockout. Very ideal for Barcelona to feast on them once more 😄😄 |

Ijustwantto:I didn’t write them off but with their current setup, we’ll beat them again. As a collective, we’re the better team with a recognisable playing style and a much fitter squad. They’ll also be playing extra games against City, resulting in more tiredness. I’d also prefer to play them now in a semifinal than a potential final. |

Breaking newz RMTV has sent a request to RFEF to consider their last minute goal against leganes The institution says their prospect was 2 cm offside thereby rendering the last minute goal void.. They'd like to forfeit the semi finals and hand leganes the spot. All this after Barcelona secured semi final spot.. @fabrico-roman reign |

| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by jpmoriarti(m): 10:52am On Feb 07, 2025 |
Bimmarlykay:You have to understand that in football, just like in life, everything is always changing. You only have to judge based on what you see on a particular day or within a particular period. Like I said, on this Flick's football which involves more intelligence with passing, playmaking from the back and keeping offside, all of Pau Curbasi, Eric Garcia and Inigo Maritnez are better than Ronald Araujo. Araujo doesn't possess good passing ability nor does he keep the offside trap well enough. You can check our match against Atlanta and Benfica to judge for yourself. Ronald Araujo will have to work incredibly hard to regain his position from any of these 3. Inigo Martinez was injured for almost a month but now he is back and he has walked right back into his position. That should tell you something. I once praised Ronald Araujo? When? Where? How? |

Bimmarlykay:Yes I praised him but I never said he was better than Pau Curbasi, Inigo Martinez and Eric Garcia in this Hansi Flick system. Yes his profile is different from those of other players we have, but does that mean he is better? To succeed in Flick's system, you need to be very good with your feet and also know how to keep offside. Yes being a colosus and fast and intense makes you a very good defender but you need more than that to succeed in Hansi Flick's system. I am sure you understand my argument. |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by OkpaNsukkaisBae(m): 1:26pm On Feb 07, 2025 |
Bimmarlykay:Actually, Araujo na special player. His profile is rare. Pace, speed, strength and can dominate in the air. But within you, these are not the main attributes of a Barca defender. Did you see Curbasi yesterday? There was a time he flicked the ball over a sliding Valencia player. The Valencia player collected a yellow card, some ref go give straight red card. I don't think Araujo can produce such skill under immense pressure. Baba go balloon/clear the ball. A Barca defender have to be very confident on the ball. His positional awareness is subpar. Last time wey he partnered with Curbasi, na him dey spoil the offline offside settings Jp is right, Araujo need to improve |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Bimmarlykay(m): 1:29pm On Feb 07, 2025 |
jpmoriarti:I understand already..... But don't bullshit Araujo cuz of 2 games ,Eric has his flaws same with Kounde and Inigo. Don't forget he just got back from injury. |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Bimmarlykay(m): 1:35pm On Feb 07, 2025 |
OkpaNsukkaisBae:Correct! I told Taguchi what i observed about Araujo. Same yesterday, Cubarsi commited an error that would have led to a Valencia goal,i yelled at first but he later blocked the square play or so.Araujo is bad with positioning,i just told J.P not to downrate him cuz of Valencia win.. |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by jpmoriarti(m): 1:52pm On Feb 07, 2025 |
Bimmarlykay:Yeah that would explain why he’s still struggling with the offside trap and ability to build play from the back. Yes I agree that all the players have their flaws but you have to compensate adequately such that your strengths can mask your weaknesses. In this Hansi Flick system, Araujo strengths are masked by his flaws, which shouldn’t be. Every player has significantly improved under Hansi Flick except Ansu Fati and Ronald Araujo. FdJ is already working his way back to a very good level |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by jpmoriarti(m): 2:01pm On Feb 07, 2025 |
Bimmarlykay:Well, I am not downrating Araujo. While this time last season, he was our best defender by far, now he is our 4th best. He needs to work harder again to become the top dog. Learn the rudiments again. Watch more videos to correct his mistakes in keeping the offside trap. Continue to work on his ball play. |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Taguchi: 2:19pm On Feb 07, 2025 |
Bimmarlykay:The truth is that in a different team, Araujo is probably our best defender by far... The guy is fast , strong and a good header of the ball but he is average in positioning and a poor passer of the ball which are key defensive attributes of the flick system. We all know that he's good but I don't think he's good enough to displace Cubarsi and inigo in our current system |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by andrewbaba44: 3:43pm On Feb 07, 2025 |
jpmoriarti:Araujo is our best cb normally very strong and fast ,knows how to defend ,knows how to tackle ,good on the air also But for this Hansi flick system anything him eye see make e take am like that Wishing him nothing but the best |

jpmoriarti:How is he a 4th best, maybe i missed something? Its too early to decide let Flick and time tell who will bench who. |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Bimmarlykay(m): 6:43pm On Feb 07, 2025 |
Taguchi:Time will tell.... I still believe Araujo will learn and stand his ground. |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by abduleez1(m): 7:22pm On Feb 07, 2025 |
All this Araujo talk, praise and defense.......while something in my guts tells me Araujo is highly likely to leave Barca next season. 👀 The clauses in his updated contract easily gives him an exit strategy. The likes of Man City, Milan, Arsenal etc might not be able to buy him cheaply for his "conditional €65mn release clause" but them likes of Aston Villa in EPL and fellow money-miss-roads with virtually no threat to Barca competitively can trigger his release clause— which is even cheap judging by the recent purchases of these clubs. Araujo also struggling to smash his way into the starting lineup also doesn't bode well for his continued loyalty. Y'all might refuse to see it or can't see it now, but I don't really see Araujo sticking with Barca next season. If he even miraculously makes it next season, I don't see him staying the year after. Dude hesitated for over a year about contracts and was ready to leave. Also a sour puss who seems to not have forgotten the reproach he got from fans last season for his title-destroying error. Also very insecure about his position in the face of competition. All these mixtures and how his renewal dragged on and was negotiated with him nearly leaving just gives me the notion he's not staying for next season. Dude's just bidding his time, probably don't want to destabilise the stability of the team if he had left us abruptly now cos of our injury records and club needs adequate preparation. And majorly to help Barca make some decent money off him in the summer while still making it easier for him to move if he wants. Wants to avoid the "ungrateful" tag by unforgiving Cules. My two cents ✌🏽..... |
