We are missing the point. This general has jumped countless times as a cadet, 2nd lt, lt, captain, etc......but this the first time his jumping as a general. Iz like when uve attained d height of ur career and still decided to undertake a task u did as a junior or a task that countless of ur junior collegues can do.

Honestly iz commendable by any standards. The battle of the buldge. Battle of Stalingrad...Normandy etc.

Unfortunately airborne course has no any Impact in our present fight with insurgent, except for decoration and ceremony.
I know of trackers, snapper's, desert worries and other professional coup course's, a fire 🔥 fighting or a vulcanizing course (tyre maintenance technology) will have much much impact in today Nigeria battle field, Not airborne.

Did he jump behind enemy lines under artillery and mortar fire? This does not count as a combat jump so why the fuss?

If a general is celebrating parachuting off an aircraft, how's he going to lead the cadets, non commissioned officers, and other staff?
A general should be in charge of the paratrooper division with colonels, majors and captains under him. Am I missing something?

George Bush parachuted until he was 87, women parachute for fun, and small boys and girls jump out of moving airplanes for fun. How did we end up celebrating an army general who can parachute?
