Nothing new. The worst is when they turn you to their ATM simply because you showed sympathy. It's mostly manipulation. A lot of people see begging as 'an' easy way. Nothing new in the trend.

Begging is a full time job for a lot of people if you only know and the irony is how the laugh behind your back afterwards because they make so much money everyday begging. I know a begger who owns properties worth millions. There are lots of such people on Nairaland too, who are making money from begging. People make transfer to them every now and then. The genuine people who sincerely need help are very few.

More so, is when they turn you to their ATM and the moment you don't give, they start showing ingratitude either by misbehaving some will even insult you in your face.

First case is still understandable. He might have had plans to meet someone for a business deal that did NOT pan out.

He had a VIABLE excuse for getting stranded.

But the second guy is plain MADNESS!
People like that should NEVER be given handouts.

A poor man found himself an EQUALLY poor woman and they bleeped raw until they made a baby whom they can give NOTHING but more poverty.

That's NOT just poverty.
That is STUPIDITY!
And WICKEDNESS too.

Having a child when you know you CANNOT take of a child is EVIL!

Both of them WILLINGLY signed up to get hitched to their POOR selves. But that child DIDN'T.

Condom is JUST #300. Get it and don't make your IRRESPONSIBILITY the problem of other people.

"I don't like condom" is NOT for people who are suffering from perennial poverty.

It's one thing to be a well-to-do couple who had their child/children BEFORE they fell on hard times.

It's ANOTHER thing for a pauper who moved from his family house to a face-me-i-face-you apartment and still DEFAULTS on rent to IMPREGNATE a fellow pauper.

That's MADNESS!

I HATE people like that.
They deserve ZERO sympathy or assistance.
Hw u take knw?

Re: Whenever I Read Stuffs Like This, I Weep For Nigeria.(screenshot) by LuffyD19:
Like most people on this post i use to believe that it's all scam or those people are lazy until i really ask a deep question,

why will someone that's not poor or some that has a goal to not be poor
or some that has the knowledge to discern that they can't live a confortable life begging ;
why will they then start begging , because no matter the situation if all was truly well people will not decide to start begging.

I believe at some point we all have begged ; at some point in our lives but remember we didn't pray that kind of situation occures again. Never!!.

So why will you think some one in the right state of mind ,
some who has a job that atleast pays ,
some one that has a level of education to know that begging is not a job that can help him/she build a home or that future he desire ,
some that knows there is at least small jobs he/she can do to earn , start begging as their job?

When begging increase in a society at the rate we are seeing in nigeria , honestly speaking there is problem!
Research shows this is not caused by one factor but it's a ripple effect of failed/failing systems . poverty, lack of education, unemployment, failed government , crises , insecurity e.t.c

Quarterpast:
What's really Happening?

I'm really mindful of the places I go these days because when people see that you dress well smelling nice, they conclude you have money and they start billing you. If and when I have money, and someone needs help, my conscience can never allow me leave without helping such a person. If I am unable to help, I feel really bad and sad within me. But when I don't have, nobody helps me. Life!

I try as much as I can to stay healthy and out of police trouble cos if I fall sick or fall into trouble, I have nobody to assist me... Them say cow wey nor get tail, na God dey drive flies from it's anus o. I don't look for people's trouble at all. Slap me, I leave u to God.

Coup under the new world dictatorship of Donald Trump in The Federal Republic of Nigeria where the United States has billions of dollars in assets & investments?

Military want to remove a Chicago trained former executive of American owned Mobil Oil from the president of The Federal Republic of Nigeria?

Softmirror will always want to counter this cos his mentor is in power. You don't expect him to support the post, even though inside of him, he's crying. I see people ask me to buy food for them on a regular basis. They'd tell me they don't need the money, but the food..right in my presence, they'd devour the food and walk away. It has never been this worse.

When people approach you for money, that's when you can say begging isn't a new thing. What of a patient coming out of lasuth asking you to please get her a list of drugs cos she doesn't even have money to go back home talk more of being able to afford the drugs? Or an able-bodied man showing you 100 naira as his last card, asking you to please pay a keke rider a fare that will take him home...I see these all the time. I paid one keke man 300 naira recently, from alagbado to command to carry a passenger who begged for fare. I thought he was going to collect the money from him and come down, which some smart people can do. I hid somewhere. The keke zoomed off until it disappeared from my sight

You see eeh, karma is real. When you defend evil, what comes your way won't be funny. Leave them. They think they can play God. Are you aware Nigeria is now the 4th largest economy in africa? That tells you the height of poverty in the land.. sadly, only Nigeria is experiencing this hardship the most in africa. Go to Benin republic and spend 5 days, they'd think you travelled to Europe by the time you return.

people are wicked.
The other day after closing from work,I met a man in the motor pack who begged me to buy him food.
I asked the food vendor to give him whatever he asked for.
He asked for rice.
I asked him whether he also want beans,he said yes.
I told the woman to give him beans which the woman did.
My anger is that the woman was careless with the food.
I warned her that if she is careless with the food that I won't pay her.
That this is food for a full grown Man.
That was when she calmed down and I paid her.
My brother or sister, people are really suffering in this country.
I have to farm seriously this year to try and help
Pls sir help🙏

Exactly. I don’t give beggars money.

You will see someone that says he is hungry and he is standing no way a food junction. The worst are the one that say they need transport and they are standing no where near the nearest busstop.

If you tell me you need transport and you are standing at the busstop, i will stop a vehicle and pay for you myself.

Most just think they are smart but they don’t know their punishment in eternal would be very severe cuz they are making things difficult for those who genuinely need help
