Abia Partners With Radisson Blu To Rebuild Enyimba Hotel, Conference Centre by Metrix147(op): 5:43pm On Feb 07, 2025
The Abia State Government has taken a significant step towards revitalizing the hospitality and business landscape of Aba with the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Radisson Blu for the reconstruction of the iconic Enyimba Hotel and International Conference Centre, ABN TV reports.

The agreement, sealed in Lagos, marks a strategic partnership with the globally renowned Radisson Blu brand to deliver a world-class hospitality and event facility in Aba. The project will feature a state-of-the-art hotel, a 2,500-seat main conference hall, multiple smaller halls, and a large exhibition space designed to cater to both local and international business events.

Speaking on the development, government officials emphasized that the project aligns with Abia State’s vision of transforming Aba into a leading commercial hub in Nigeria. By attracting investors and fostering business tourism, the Enyimba Hotel and Conference Centre is expected to stimulate economic growth, create employment opportunities, and enhance the state's global reputation.

The partnership with Radisson Blu underscores the state government's commitment to infrastructural development and private-sector collaboration to drive sustainable economic progress. The project is anticipated to further position Aba as a preferred destination for corporate events, trade fairs, and conferences, boosting both tourism and commerce in the region.

How can Abia State government officials travel to Lagos State to sign an agreement with a private company for a project that will be done in Abia State? It should be the other way round.

There's no Airport in Aba.

It does. A government advertises a project and calls for bids. Companies show interest by applying. One is selected and it is invited to come and sign the agreement in the government house. No government goes to you, a private company, for you to sign an agreement with them, unless there's more to the deal.

While I agree with you but when you desire a certain arrangement you may have to go for it yourself secondly the committee setup for this deal knows best. Let's just pray politicians do not remain politicians grin

Good

I like what Peter Mba of Enugu state and Otti of Abia State is doing... Completing old and abandoned projects by former governors of their respective states ..

Otti have resuscitated Aba mega mall, now restoring Abia hotels

It's for you to know the kind of wayo those people are doing in Abia.
You'll be surprised that what just read is not what they signed.
This govt said they contracted KPMG to conduct forensic audit and that the former governor was indicted of 10B.
KPMG released their report and said they were contracted to do business process review. And never indicted anyone of any missing 10B.

This is a govt who said in the media that they've paid off 9 years pension arrears and accolades filled everywhere, pensioners came out and debunked it and they admitted that they paid only the 10 months they owed pensioners.
When Landmark and Enugu signed their own MoU, it was done in Enugu state. Same with Rivers and Akwa Ibom.
For this is to be in Lagos, trust me, they're up to another wayo. It could be consultation.

Abia state is not holding the cards in this case.
Abia needs Radisson Blus assistance here. Not the other eay round, abi you think Radisson a globally recognized hospitality company needs Abia state to survivehuh

Na who need help dey find helper

I don't know how old you are, but I will assume you are either unexposed or a baby.

The world's biggest hospitality chain is Marriott International. As bad as Hope Uzodinma is, when he reached a deal with Marriott International to build a 200-room hotel in Owerri, Marriott International had to send their officials down to Imo State to sign the agreement!

I made a simple statement dropping my opinion without insult, but you who claims to be the adult calling me a child is the one who comes to rain insult instead of simply bringing a superior argument. We clearly see the adult you are, I have always said that stupid people grow ild with their stupidity, you can see that your age hasnt helped you much.

By the way, only a grown man with sand in his brain thinks that every contract must follow the same partern.
The fact that Imo signed their own in Imo state automatically means that every contract signing in Nigeria must follow the same procedure....

And you are the adult.

My dog knows that they are various ways to take from the front door to gis cage. You would probably be following one way to your cage

This is a good development.
However, no picture of the current state of the Enyimba Hotel is displayed and not even what it is projected to look like after completion.

Honestly, people who can think are few in this country and it's quite disturbing. That's why Nigeria has remained a mess 60+ years after independence. Thank you for this explanation 🙏

They are supposed to sign the project in Umuahia but we aren't there to know the reason they met in Lagos. Our business should be them completing the project not where it was signed.
No matter what Alex Otti does in Abia state, some people will still criticise him .... But who even gives a f**k?
