It's not an answer to Dubai and cannot be, Dubai never asked any question BTW. It's a needless comparison, howbeit a very good development. There are hundreds of great and beautiful cities all over the world. They are all unique in their own way, and none is claiming competition or answer to Dubai. Even Abu Dhabi the capital of UAE is not claiming answer to Dubai.

But the thought of living inside sand filled Atlantic ocean in Nigeria that have no emergency rescue service, no responsible and accountable government is scary and a no no for people that understand Nigeria and cherish their life like me.

This is how niger delta should be especially bayelsa state...But fxxlishness will not allow us. The leaders prefer to steal money they will never use, give weapons to boys just for election purposes and those boys in return turn to waterway kidnappers.

How can they be wasting money in doing that when more than 70 percent of lagos can be classified as slums in the real world? Why not put all that money in upgrading the hellish slums to make the suffering massess live with some sense of dignity. You can not pour new wine in an old wineskin

Chagoury came as a partner to build just like JB built the Second Niger Bridge which will be tolled

God bless Yorubaland and with the coastal road, more of this will spring up

I know the people who have never been able to find a solution to their erosion ravaged lands will be jealous but they’ve not even seen anything yet

And after upgrading the slums with the money, where will the money come from to maintain what you’ve upgraded?

Do you know how much it costs to maintain world class infrastructure in a city of 25 million people? It costs billions of dollars per annum.

So what you need is for businesses and investment to pour in first.

You build up your revenues by taxing those corporations plus the large numbers of employees they’ll have.

Eko Atlantic is all about providing that haven for investors, local and foreign. At full operation it will provide billions of dollars in tax revenue every year to the Lagos state government.

THAT is what you will now start using to build up the rest of the city and start mega housing projects etc etc. Within a few years you’ve cleared out those slums and installed proper housing and infrastructure, with assured maintenance because there is money.
