Ganduje: Igbo Must Connect to National Politics, commends Chukwuma

Titus Maduako Eleweke

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has described the Igbo people as the most nationalistic group in the country, expressing regret over their lack of connection to national politics.

Ganduje made the statement on Saturday in Awka, the capital of Anambra State, during a one-day visit to the state.

According to the APC National Chairman, there is no political ward in the country where an Igbo person is not present, engaged in one activity or another.

"In every ward, we find an Igbo person. In all 774 local government councils, you will see Igbo communities. This is an outlook of nationalism. But why do you choose to remain in a micro-political enclave? It is no longer possible; you must change the narrative. You are aware of de-marginalization policy of the Southeast political zone. We must connect you to the center. It is a task that must be done. We must connect you to the national grid because, for now, you are politically connected to rural electrification. You are under generators, and this is not acceptable," he stated.

He, however, commended the leadership of the party in the state, describing it as solid. He assured that the national executive would do everything necessary to ensure justice, equity, and fairness for all, noting that the national leadership had decided that it would no longer be business as usual.

"Our party will be active throughout the year, and I am happy that Anambra APC is very active. We want to be focused, have vision, and be strategic," he said.

The state chairman of APC, Chief Basil Ejidike, expressed dissatisfaction with the federal government’s approach to appointing individuals for positions without the knowledge of party executives.

According to him, the party faithful are being neglected by the federal government, a development he described as discouraging to members.
He also noted that all palliatives distributed by the federal government to the state through the governor were shared only among members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), with nothing allocated to APC members.

However, the national leadership of APC and co-aspirants in the forthcoming Anambra state governorship election commended Sir Paul Chukwuma for his commitment and contributions to the development of the party in the state.

The National Chairman, Ganduje, commended Sir Chukwuma for donating a befitting secretariat for the party in Awka.
According to him, Sir Chukwuma has made significant contributions to the sustenance of the party in the state.

Also, the national women’s leader of the party, Dr. Mrs. Mary Alile, praised Sir Chukwuma for supporting the national women’s program in Abuja.
She said that women can only support those who recognize and appreciate them, noting that women are core voters in elections.

One of the governorship aspirants, Mr. Chukwuma Umeorji, also commended Sir Paul Chukwuma for his contribution to the party's development in the state.

"When somebody does something good, you must commend him for donating a house for the party," he said.

Speaking, Sir Paul Chukwuma said that he is committed to the good of APC's development in the state. According to him, his agenda is to connect APC to national politics.

"It is my agenda to connect Anambra state to the center. I have been with APC, and I will continue to support APC. We will defeat APGA in the forthcoming election. I plead with you to vote for me in the primary," he said.

Igbo's should have their own political party in 2027, have new candidate not necessarily Peter Obi. They can spread their votes across the candidates

We igbos don't care about winning an election... Or supporting the winning team

We only support someone we believe is the right candidate even if their is a 100% chance he would fail... We would still support that candidate... Than support a bad candidate that has a 100% chance of winning

The sooner you guys understand this the better for you and your heart

We igbos don't think like you and your people

Higher GDP per capita despite receiving less money per capita

Higher access to health and lowest infant mortality

Lowest out of school children

Very good HDI despite getting low revenue

This are what governance is all about

You have to be very silly and dumb to compare any of your clueless over hyped SE governors to Ekiti state governor .

When last did you visit Ekiti state? Apart from fayose, fayemi and the current governor did fantastically great for a young state with one of the lowest federal allocation.

We have countless Igbos in Ekiti state doing labourer jobs in our farms and selling provisions in the market.

Yet you have the gut to come here and speak ill of the state that have brought hope to many jobless Igbos.

You are an ungrateful sadist

The number one priority in good governance is Security, which not only the South East politicians failed about but the Igbo's entirely.

For christ sake, Kanu and his Ipob that majority of the Igbo's supported created the insecurity in the same region. How would almost the entire region embraced such scam in broad day light?

How would good governance thrive where it's insecure?

Only a failure will continue to be blaming others for his woes.

So Governor Soludo just woke up from Coma to fight the insecurity in Anambra state.

Governors not in charge of security yehn yehn yehn

Na your over confidence arguments dey always exposed your ignorant about things.

Again pick a book and read.. Security is 100% under the control of the president

A governor can't form a security force without president permission and give they range of operation

By the way, what are your people doing with insecurity in your South West

Stop talking.

Was Governor Soludo and Uzodinma sedated for years they have been governor that they are just taking the security of their state seriously now?

The insecurity in South East will continue to lead back to the method/approach by which South East got their own SEDC .

Your politicians created the Ipob just to draw the attention of FG to a must SEDC, same method and approach by North East.

Now that the mission about the SEDC have been achieved, the boys used for the struggle are no longer needed hence them waking up in fighting insecurity.

Every idiot is teaching Igbo how to play politics. Meanwhile, You that have connected to the center a long time ago, how is the life of the people in the north compared to the life of the Igbos without political connection?. Who needs advice the more is advising who is better than him.. Nigeria sha
Re: Ganduje: Igbo Must Connect To National Politics, commends Chukwuma by MasterJayJay: 7:01am On Feb 09, 2025
Igbo people are not connected to national politics under APC, that's why they are buying petrol at 1,000 naira per liter while others that are connected to 'national grid' are buying petrol at 200 naira per liter.

The north where Ganduje, a criminal caught on video taking bribe comes from is connected to national politics but north remains capital of terrorism, capital of poverty and capital of out of school children in Nigeria.

You have left sharia panels ravaging your states to come talk ish sbout folks more intelligent than you.

If you have any intelligence in you, you can as well state only one progress of your party since 2015 other than tears sorrows & blood.

If I hear SS fröm your mouth & comments again, I will come always hard on senselessness

Continue hyping the rejected criminal politicians fröm the SS like Wike Akpabio who have sold their heritage to lower breeds, desist from mentioning the ND in any of the useless comment

Your devilish party Apc have nothing to offer our brothers & neigbours from the Esst. You have no progress to show for your failed clueless party to want to be consiquential in advising people who have been rejecting failures from back to back
