This is really disturbing. It seems like the theater of kidnapping has now fully shifted to the Southeast, making the region increasingly unsafe. If even the President of the Ohanaeze Youth Council can be abducted in such a dramatic manner, what hope is there for ordinary citizens? The authorities need to act fast, not just to find Igboayaka but to tackle the rising insecurity in the region before things spiral further out of control.

The problem lies with the president.

We have said severally that the release of Nnamdi KANU will stem considerably insecurity in the region. But the president is adamant because he had pack with the North that Nnamdi KANU will not be released as a precondition for supporting his presidency.

As it's, insecurity in southeast will continue to fester because FG is not holistic in tackling the menace.

The government won’t release Nnamdi Kanu because doing so would create pressure to release others in similar situations, leading to more demands from people awaiting jail terms for similar crimes. Those calling for Kanu’s release need to understand that it could open the floodgates for more demands, which the government is trying to avoid. Without a more comprehensive approach to the issue, the situation will likely keep getting worse.
